Toni Kroos

Yaya does everything Kroos does. I'd rather see a midfield 3 of Gundogan fernandinho and Yaya if Pep wants that type of player.

The media always say they know what the wifes want, like peps wife was telling him to go to London, same with kevs girlfriend lol

Nobody knows what a woman wants.....not even the woman herself! ;-)

I do too. Not as high as most seem to be on Kroos. Many saying he'd fit better than Pogba. Not buying that.
I think Pogba's performances for France has been the first extended whole match experience of Pogba for most. And when they compare what they see to the hype and supposed cost, they reach a natural conclusion that he is overhyped.

Then you compare that to Kroos who plays on a ball possesion German team and you see him completing 90% percent of his passes and pinging balls left and right, it is normal to conclude Kroos is a better fit.

I disagree with these conclusions. I think France is and has been for a while now a naturally haphazard team. And such teams generally tend to depress the expressiveness of some players over others. Sure Payet is balling regardless, but this doesn't necessarily affect every player equally. Not to mention Pogba has never been a dominant team player, but rather a consistent busrst of genious, invention and magical moments. It's the difference between DeBryune and David Silva.

Silva is everywhere controlling play, while DeBryune strikes mostly in key moments and very seldomly controls play. Pogba is a star of the DeBryune variety. As opposed to the Silva/Yaya variety.

That said, I appreciate Kroos's technical profiency, his quick mind, and adherence to keeping possession. But from what I've seen of him, he is often great when things are good, but adds no extra edge. He is not very athletic, aggressive or skillful in one v one situations. Meaning when the plan isn't working, he is not a game changer. Pogba is. And for that reason I prefer and would rather get Pogba.

And even if we failed to get Pogba, I'd rather some player with an edge to his game. I'm just not a Kroos fan. If we were losing Yaya and didn't have Ilkay, I'd have been all for Kroos as the next meter of our possession game. But I think that will fall to Silva and Ilkay inevitably, and we need others who bring an edge beyond possession. Isco's dribbling, Pogba's skill and Athletism, Kante's drive and energy, Naigollan's blend of skill, strength and heart.

Granted, I don't even like the last 2 I mentioned, but I'd take them over Kroos.

But it seems the need to see a marquee signing, has locked a lot of our fans into the 'I want Kroos' mindset.

And to top it off, I don't think Real is remotely interested in trading him. I reckon he'd take over the team's pacing of the game once Modric moves on in a few years. If I were to guess, ID say Kroos is a Real lifer until he returns to Germany or gets into his 30s.

Yaya lol its not 2013 anymore pal
He's like a snail in glue these days
Should of got rid last season
Yup, besides Dihnobis the one who's likely be replaced in the middle if another star CM is brought in. As Silva or DeBryune will probably have the 3rd spot. So it's Gundogan, Silva/DeBryune, and a 3rd CM. Currently Dihno but Possibly someone new.

Please. Yaya is past it. Let's move on.

I actually agree it's time to move on from Yaya. I want to see a more dynamic midfield but I'm just saying if Pep wants somebody just to sit at the base of midfield dictating play then Yaya's still the better option imo. Kroos isn't particularly mobile, and doesn't have much in the way of defensive attributes either which are Yaya's two main crippling weaknesses.

Some honestly don't understand the importance of Kroos or a player like Kroos. They vision individuals, not teams and particular not City. As if Pep think he can make a City team play his philosophy when you have a backline from any of the defenders in our senior squad. But as long as Kroos is only a rumor it's not worth the discussion.

Its interesting about KDB. At the time she was pregnant and they knew but nobody else did. That is something that certainly could have made her opinion very important...and the press just happened to really focus on her. I think there was something to it in his case.

According to Munich based TZ Kroos has claimed own needs for his villa in Munich-Grunwald end of May. Xavi Alonso had to move out.
TZ say Kroos and his family are unhappy in Madrid and willing to leave - krexit so to say.
The villa could also be reserved for his younger brother Felix who could join 1860 Munich.
Bayern certainly would reunite with Kroos but maybe are not willing to pay as much as City.

I doubt that anyone of Rummenigge or Hoeneß or the local Bayern fans want to reunite with Kroos.

Him going to Bayern is the most ridiculous rumor I have heard. The reason he left them was because they wern't willing to give him wages that he wanted. No way Bayern would take him back, they have Renato Sanches who will take over from Xabi after this year.
They are pretty stocked in midfield as well with Thiago, Xabi, Renato, Vidal.
