Am I allowed to say that in his 'cameo' Rashford did a couple of short runs past a tiring full back before delivering a ball that had no end product, just the same as both England's full backs had done all match? But he got a 7 for his three minutes work whereas most got a 3 or a 4.

When my boys were young they mithered us all day long asking 'Why?' 'Why?' about everything. I thought of getting my own back for these repeated questions by asking why the media misrepresent everything but they don't have a clue either. Does anyone?

No mate I either go to or watch EVERY MATCH,I don't rate him,never have.Is that ok by you ?

I normally stay out this thread,because for some reason,when it's Joe being criticised.Some have a cry about it !

Frankly I believe you. What may not be evident to most of us ( in the midst of celebrating our first PL title) about his weaknesses cannot elude Mancini and his staff.
There's a lot of fundamental shortcomings in Harts football skills. Skills and techniques which can only be acquired during the outlier's stage.
You can't change a leopard's spots.

To wit it's been a while since Opponents cotton on his weak left side. Has he improved?
Footwork? Command of the box?

You're most definitely not allowed say that about Lionel Rashford, it's bordering on blasphemous.

I've already been scolded by some on here for saying similar.

That particular example may be a bad choice, I'm sure Forster pretty much had a blinder keeping Barcelona at bay in the champs league a few seasons back.

Other than that I agree Hart is the better keeper :)
 
For me Hart is clearly capable of world class performances against the very best teams in Europe, Barcalona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmand(the Lewandowski days when they were flying), Real Madrid... there's quotes from most of those teams giving him the highest of praise which will put into perspective some of the comments about him being "not even premier league level or international level"... from tubby little angry men crying into their beer.

He probably cares a little too much about England for me he was the loudest voice in the national anthem, the passion was there for all to see but he didn't seem focused, in high emotion or high pressure situations you need to be calm and collected to keep your mental sharpness or fatigue will set in much faster(I think it could be a weakness of all our modern English players after watching that game). There's no defending the second goal he let in for me(the defense was shit and shouldn't go unpunished for it though), he got to it but it scraped under his hand... he wasn't ready for it/didn't anticipate it soon enough which meant he was slow to react to it, it was his loss of focus, not his ability that cost him.
 
not sure theres a weakness in his left hand, I think he only made 1 or 2(?) mistakes last season that cost us a goal, he just has a tendency of going through bad patches, we saw it at City when he was dropped for a while, he no doubt knows he had a bad tournament but he is without doubt a great keeper and I hope as he gets older and more experienced those bad patches leave his game.
 
The biggest questionmark with Hart aren't occasional blunders. It is more about the type of goalkeeper he is and if he fits to a Pep system. Neuer and Valdes at Barcelona were goalkeepers that were/are very good footballers and not just good shotstoppers.
 
I think it was plane and simple what happened in the euros. Joe was too pumped up and possibly over confident. I play in goal and if your pumped up you grab at things and go at the ball too hard. All that shouting and mind game shit before the game is not ideal for a keeper to do. He needs to get in his own zone. That said, at least he fronted the cameras after the game - more than our esteemed captain or manager did. That was class
 
I am absolutely amazed at the extent of the spite directed at Hart by the media. Hart made some terrible mistakes but doesn't deserve the reaction. He is the best keeper England have and will bounce back.

IMO he has always been a fine keeper for us and deserves our support now. He has been an integral part of the success we have had.
 
Why does anyone care what happens when he is on international duty,he is behind a makeshift unfamilar back 4,pretty useless ones,what do you expect to happen.He manned up which is more than any of the rest of the spineless twats

Last time his form stunk for England it was the same here at City, there's every reason to be concerned.

The Ter Stegen deal looks dead in the water, but I wish it wasn't. We'd be better for it.

Ter Stegen is not a great shot stopper,i watched him when we were linked and he has as big a chance of a fuck up as joe did but not now and for us,i just don't care what happens with england
 
I think he might struggle under Pep, if he plays the possession football he's famous for. When Joe is at his best (and his best is very, very good) he is busy most of the time. I think concentration is what sometimes lets him down.
If people think back to his best games, for both City and Birmingham, he was in the game all the time. Last season he was often in the game due to how we were set up. Excepting Villa, I think he would have the other relegated teams up, that's how good I think he is.
Throughout the Euros he didn't really have much to do, which is not ideal for him, and mistakes crept in.
If he can get his head right, in terms of concentration, we don't need anyone else. If he can't, he might need to move on.
 
A quick question for those that don't rate Joe. And before you ask, no, I don't have a problem with your opinion of him. Everyone has the right to an opinion.


The seasons that Joe won the gold glove, who would you have given it to instead?
 
I don't think it should even be a question weather we keep joe or not time and time again he has saved us on his own
Yeah he has his bad spells but there isn't s Keeper in the world that would show as much heart for out team then he does the few keepers that are better then joe will not be an option to bring to the club so why down grade on ability and loose the passion he shows every game
