Bravo atm is better than Hart and Ter Stegen, problem is he has a few years left at the top. Ter Stegen we needed more really due to age.

For me, Hart is lacking and I will be torn when he goes but he should go.

Looks like we just locked in the possibility of buying Rulli in two years. That might be the perfect time to replace Bravo. Are we selling Joe and taking care of the keeper position for the next 10 years?

No matter what Pep (and some blues) think of Hart, he isn't going anywhere at the moment, as we effectively would lose a 'home grown' player from the squad, and then replace him with another foreigner. If we have a buyer for Cabellero, Bravo might happen, otherwise I can't see it. Keepers are not a priority position for Pep, so its most likely just media/agent bullshit.

Nope...if we get Stones we have out four Englishmen. This won't be a quota decision whatever happens.

What's underwhelming about Claudio Bravo? He's been a pretty amazing keeper for Barca and Chile and has at least a few more years, til Rulli is ready, left in the tank.

NO. Bravo and Hart are both excellent keepers who have completely different styles of play. Depending on what system you put them in, one will be better than the other.

The Rulli deal gives this legs. With that deal we are basically saying Joe could be gone in two years. Now, IF (and this is a big if) Pep has decided Hart isn't his long term choice, why would you not make a move for Bravo as a stop gap. He is clearly a better "Pep" keeper than Hart and fills the gap till we have Rulli. We will see.

I don't think he's any better than Joe, and IMO anyone coming in to replace Joe should be a level above him.

I don't think there are many goalkeepers better than Joe in the world, especially not any that are available, so to be honest I'd be underwhelmed if we replaced him at all this summer.

Joe had a piss poor Euros which I couldn't really give a toss about. There are only 2 keepers in the world I'd want instead of Joe. One isn't going to leave Bayern and the other is nearly 40.

I like Joe as well. But I don't think he can play well as a sweeper. Sure he might do OK... but I don't think he'd ever be very good in the sweeper role.

Bravo though - every time I've seen him play - is class. He's actually better on the ball than Neuer.

If Joe has to go, my first choice as replacement would be Neuer. But not far behind - ignoring age differential - is Bravo.

OtOH, I'm not at all sold on ter Stegan. Yes, he's younger, but, TS seems very prone to bonehead errors. Usually one inexplicable mistake per game. Over a season, that could be the difference between winning the league and finishing a distant second or fourth.

The issues, as I see it, are:
1. They are both good shot stoppers.
2. Neither are good at catching the ball.
3. Bravo distributes the ball to colleagues much quicker and has a better touch with the ball.
4. Maybe Hart can develop better and quicker "ball" skills over time.

BUT there are rumours that Hart has been disruptive inside the dressing room in the past and, maybe PG is a little uncomforable with these. Whatever the truth about these rumours Hart is certainly quick to talk to the press nowadays and this maybe be a further worry to the management.
For what it's worth, I wouldn't be sorry to see Bravo (or other similar) start as first choice with maybe Rulli in a few years. Only my opinion
