Must be hard work listening from your sun bed, with a glass of wine in hand :-) xRight then, lunch. All that talk of wine merchants has given me a taste for a nice crisp white rioja. And maybe some calmari with garlic and chilli.

BUPA subs up to date?
I'm hoping they cover a therapeutic massage or two, great win by England
Well played England, those second innings runs were vital!!!
It was weird. 390-odd ahead, wasn't it? Cook just said in the post match guff that he wanted to give the bowlers a rest. They weren't exactly overworked in the Pakistan first innings;Just a little bit Jim, there is still no logical explanation as to why we batted again, even the conspiracy theory of wanting it to go 5 days hasnt come off.

Anderson 13 overs, Broad 12, Moeen 7.4, Stokes 15 and Woakes 16.
I think the commentary box was unified in saying they would have all enforced the follow on, with the weather being on and off they wouldnt have been over worked at they would have been getting rest every 15 mins and Stokes and Anderson didnt play the last test, so thats a shit excuse by Cook.
We're about to see which way England are thinking with selection now it looks like Stokes is out. I will presume this is too good an opportunity to now throw Rashid in though you don't know if England will play only three seamers. That in itself might mean Vince is playing too - as fourth choice seamer/Collywobbler.
Mark Wood would be interesting too since he's bowling well and his skiddy style will be better in India rather than the hit the deck Finn types.
By all accounts they have a team of sports science people working with the team and it is they that are heavily involved in the work that each player is putting in. I presume they also have a big say in decisions like that, and that might be why Cook came off the field to chat wit the coaches half an hour before Pakistan were bowled out. I presume he was checking the data.
On a sidenote I love listening to Misbah. Think he's a great captain for Pakistan, it's such a shame he's so old.
Stokes' injury totally negates our debate the other day and Beefy just made the same point I made about the drainage at Edgbaston, the weather in the next few weeks will be crucial to how things go, despite this spinners dont get many wickets at Edgbaston. The fact that Wood is well thought of and centrally contracted might have him jump Ball in the pecking order.
Did you hear Farbrace last night, he said it was to give the bowlers a rest and let the pitch deteriorate a bit more.
