That makes sense, the preferential treatment Munich seem to get over foreign buyers is completely idiotic.

Well we don't necessarly know what happens behind the scenes. It could be likely that players push for the move to Bayern as they are content in Germany which makes the deal easier to complete and reduces the price.

At the same time, some of these young players are coming out and saying they rather stay home than go out to a foreign league at a young age. Laporte mentioned it, last season Draxler left Schalke but moved to Wolfsburg after persistent links to Arsenal and said he wasn't ready for that move just yet and rather stay in Germany. Sané is real close with his family, his father made Germany home, he has a younger brother also in the academy and an older one who just left. It's not out of the question that there's merit to the Bayern being a landing spot to stay close if he doesn't choose us in the end.

That could be true but it's not just with German players. Remember Comical Ali's comments about De Bruyne?

For those reasons you mentioned, I think it would be best to close this deal this summer. I think 12 months with Bayern "whispering" in his ear, could only make it more difficult to sign him in 2017 ;)

we need this done this summer or turn our attention elsewhere

I really hope this transfer gets done this week. If the player truly wants to come out and play for Pep then meeting somewhere near Schalke's valuation should be enough to get him to leave and join City.

This is the way I see it happening. Sane has told us he will come next year, that's a risk, but Pep's talked to the player, and we're fine holding out and letting him develop. I'm fine telling Schalke to fuck off and we'll take our chances with what we have and get Jehsus in come January.

Genuine question, with things looking like they might be stalling in Sane transfer talks, could signing Gabriel Jesus reduce the need for us to meet Sane's valuation? 32mil euros for Jesus, isnt cheap for a 19 year old from Palmeiras, so I'm guessing we might have big plans for him, especially if he could still join us in Jan. Both seem similar type of players so if Jesus deal is done, maybe we no longer feel under pressure to meet Schalke's asking price?

I get the logic here Jimmy but it's almost time to stop being fucked around with and taken for fools in the maket. We're entering a new era where players will opt to choose us over the Rags, Bayern, Barca, and Real if it suits them best. I'm willing to take the risk and trust Sane and call their bluff. I'd actually rather us tell them to fuck off this year and ricend the 42m offer and prove a point. It sure would be a powerful statement from our end.

Very odd that they are possibly willing to hold out a year to take less money for him. We should just pay the 50 if we think he is that good and want him that badly.

But why does it feel like all of the Bundesliga teams, maybe with the exception of BVB, seem to be OK with the fact that they are a feeder team for Bayern and almost willing to help them (lower fee next year for Bayern to possibly sweep in). Its almost as if they all know they have no chance of beating Bayern for the title and are OK with just support Bayern in winning Europe.

To summarize I'm fine anything the club ends up doing, pay the 42, pay the 50, or tell them to fuck off and we'll try again next year. I just hope everyone contains the flapping and looks at the bigger picture if he doesn't come.
