Worst ever Defeat for City

May have got my wires crossed but I thought it was Gio who scored ? Or was this in another defeat to them... God how far have we come.
Pretty sure Brannan scored from long range just after half time. We did actually batter them in the second half, and if we'd have scored a second we'd have won it I swear! That's what I kept telling myself anyway...

I seem to remember losing 2-1 to Chesterfield about 10 years ago was a pretty, pretty bad one...

Losing 1-0 with an og, and they didn't have a single shot...

Can't remember who it was?

... Or perhaps I'm just dredging up some nightmare.

From games I attended:
Bury away in the League Cup (0-2) - 72-73?
Halifax
That 1-3 at Snackpot as mentioned
The 0-5 at the swamp
Mansfield 1-2 in the Auto Whatnot Thingy
And the 4-1 and 0-1 League Cup games against Lincoln. The 5-1 aggregate is still out heaviest ever defeat over two legs thus proving Lincoln are better than Barcelona and real Madrid. Perhaps.

I was sent on an errand by my dad to Albert Square, bumped into a classmate and used Dad's money to go to Wolves. Beaten 8-1 with a fearful journey back, not improved by the team being in a few reserved compartments on the same train.

Dad forgave me for using his money - he reckoned I had suffered enough with the result.

I got up so happy this morning, then I come on here and some twat spoils my day my reminding me of all the ghosts in our past, was at most mentioned by the way.

6-0 away to Derby, or 5-0 away to United for me.
Went to that game we went the night before out on the piss slept in the car and bump into the Derby firm DLF (Derby lunatic fringe )good lads took us to their pubs and clubs but warned us that if they saw us on match day they would do us and they weren't young lads their younger lads just wanted to batter us but the main lads made sure we were ok shit result but great experience

Sven's last game - Middlesbrough's 8-1 win - players just gave up - just 3 months before the start of the current journey...
we were pissing ourselves. the journey home was a riot .

of course there have been many, some last season should be in this thread. anyway bearing in mind the context and it was at home the worst for me was the 2-3 defeat at home by Fulham a few years ago. we led 2 nil and they were doomed to relegation, that win saved them which is fine but our collapse that day still haunts me.

On reflection, it’s amazing how we even judge success these days, never mind failure.

I’m looking forward to a season of good football, and renewed enthusiasm. However, once it starts, I know I’ll be sucked into the Guardiola-Mourinho media frenzy, and irritated to fuck by the knee-jerk response to every defeat.

This time ten years ago, our survival depended on a solid back four, and Joey Barton

i recall traipsing down to brighton in a mate's clapped-out old beamer and getting stuffed 2 seasons in a row.
1-4 in the league '81-'82 and 0-4 in the f.a.cup in '82-'83.

The Luton game will always haunt me,as will (even though) not a defeat in the game but Black Sunday v dippers, get it in the corner.............................not

When the shite beat us 0-1 at ours in 2010, the ginger whinger bagged a header in the last minute after Bellers has squandered position in our own half. That one hurt. It could have stopped those twats bagging the title that year, and given us a point towards Europe.

The 2-3 derby defeat at the Etihad hurt me.. A lot.
Both of these.... the first one is somewhat immortalised as it was the game when the Google Earth Trike came round the ground before the game...

Whats the worst ever performance or humiliation people have witnessed from a City performance?

Mine was Jan 1980 v Halifax Fa Cup. Lost 0-1
Yes, this one for me too, horrible day.

Dis-honourable mentions for the 4-0 surrender at Brighton in the Cup in 1983 that prompted Bond to resign and a 5-goal thumping at Selhurst against Charlton over Xmas '86.
