Never really got over the 1981 Cup final loss to the spuds, poor Tommy Hutch scoring both goals in the 1-1 draw in the first game, then getting beat 3-2 in the replay ;-(

Halifax was the pits, but for me the FA cup final replay, that's a game we should have won, it was the game in my eyes that saw a decline that's took over 20 years to recover from, I always felt if we had won that we could and should have pushed on to better times.

The one that hurt the most was that 2-3 against the rags, the one with the ghost penalty in the 90s. My then gf was a rag and loads of us were watching it together in the Royal Oak in Chorlton. I just couldn't handle the fuckin gloating that went on after the game. Ended up finishing with her two weeks later. Shame in a way, she was seriously hot
