Why did he play long balls when he came on against Arsenal? If ever there was a time...
Because he panicked when an opposition player went at him.

So, if he's not confident in his defence, he is to simply ignore the managers instructions?Because he was not confident the makeshift defence would be able to work it upfield?
Me too. After Aguero, Hart is the most popular player with the fans and for good reason. I have no idea why some fans are trying to invent a flaw in his game as if City have never tried to build up play from the back under Mancini or Pellegrini. We have been renowned for our passing game but suddenly the football we are going to play is going to be unrecognisable? Guardiola would laugh at that.I don't want ter stegen to sign.. If we were buying some £10m keeper then fine, he'd be backup to hart and maybe put a bit of pressure on him.. But for this kind of fee he's gonna surely be first choice. Hart is a legend, he's hardly ever let us down. I've always been proud to have him as city number 1. Even if stegen is 10% a better player than hart I still don't want him, I guess I'm just being sentimental but hey ho
Perhaps Guardiola likes to encourage his players. A few fans should try that sometimes. They are our players. With the uncertainties in defence, I'm really glad we have Hart in net and I am sure he will get on well with Stones a player he already knows. That is an advantage in settling in a new player. Keeper and central defender already know each other's game. So, if he's not confident in his defence, he is to simply ignore the managers instructions?
Willy was in the same predicament and proceeded to at least follow Peps instructions. Yes, it went pear shaped on more than one occasion, but Pep was seen to applaud Willy for attempting it. Joe

He's still here. We had £150m to spend. If Guardiola wanted to change keeper he would have done.
I've had similar thoughts. What if we sign one sweeper and trade Hart (Hart would likely demand a transfer if he's not our first choice keeper), while keeping Caballero; Caballero seems even less able to play sweeper than Hart.So impossible as it seems - 2 GKs please?!?!?

Hart is a top keeper and does us proud i to am lost on this one. Cracking shot stopper been a leader in our dreadful defence, cant imagine where in the league we would be without him.

He's not fucking good enough for the system Pep wants to play, that's it, nothing else has any relevance in this conversation, not shot stopping, popularity with the fans, nothing.
He's been guilty ever since he came in to the side of not having the footballing ability needed and he's going to pay for it if he doesn't learn fast.
His injury v the rags last season was solely down to his inability to make a quick decision with the ball at his feet, he's also indecisive when it's in his hands.
Pep wants to play a certain style and way of football, those who can't step up can step out, simple as that.
Too much sentimentality here at times.
