Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

I like Joe but can anyone really say he has improved as a keeper in the last 5-6 years? He has had some great performances for us over the years but he tends to shine in games where we get absolutely battered and he does his best to keep the score down. Where he lets himself down are the games where the opposition have 1 or 2 shots all game and he loses concentration and lets in soft goals.

I think part of his problem is he seems to have settled into a role of chest beating and fronting up and likes to get himself in front of the cameras after he's played poorly or made a mistake. I suppose this is admirable as it shows he doesn't hide, but in a strange way I think it's hindered his development as it's come at the expense of cutting out mistakes and improving his game. I think Joe is too conscious of his Mr Honesty and proud Englishman image and it's made him a little complacent as a top class keeper. He's managed to get away with it for a few years now due to lack of competition, but as we saw at the Euros, people are beginning to see through it at international level and I think Pep's seen through it too.
 
There is no shot across the bow like being dropped. This could be a statement to Joe of, "This is the way we play. Play that way or don't play."

If you were Joe, the last thing you would do in pre-season is launch the ball long. How many clues do you need?
 
I think Joe deserves better treatment after 10 years of service here and being with us from our journey of being shit to winning trophies. If Pep wants a new keeper then I'd back that but only once he has bought said keeper and that keeper has proven they are better. To drop Joe for Willy is a joke, especially as the ball bounces 10 feet off Willy when he tries to play from the back. Joe should have started until Pep had a replacement in at the very least.

I'd say they're working on bringing on a new keeper. You don't seriously think Willy will be our first choice, do you? They'll want someone who's happy to play second fiddle, which Joe won't accept (Willy will).
 
The least I hope is the club treats Joe's exit with grace... Lets face it city are not great with handling grateful exits

Replacing Hart is a separate argument.
Picking Willy just shows Pep is human and makes mistakes.... this being a Fucking huge one, as Willy is crap, end of.
I think he believes his own hype, and is being controversial just to live up to it.
Willy tucking Caballero.... really? :.....far worse than Kolorov at CB.
 
Theres a possibility Pep is still undecided on Wily and wants to evaluate him (rather than Hart) before the window closes?
 
I Refuse to believe Caballero is better than Hart - what a joke! ok, Joes made a few mistakes, common here - he'll be snapped up PRONTO.

He's saved us numerous times, how fickle and short on memory are we being here? I for one will be gutted if he goes.
 
Difficult to be hyper critical of Willy as he hardly plays but I'm sure the decision to play him has a strong scientific argument.
