yep.well spotted.annoys me to fuck.

Saw that one on the back of his ankle, not nice to say it would have been a deliberate attempt to injure Silva, but it didn't look good at all. The players foot went direct onto the part just above the ankle and then down. I feared the worst at first but it was great to see him get back up

Tactical intelligence, speed of thought, will never abandon the top players... I've read peps book, however, it's not needed to see that he isn't the same player, unfair or not....he was decent, as was sterling and a number of other players...

Tbh he is different from the player he was four years before, just as the 2011 version of him was different from the 2008 one. A slight change in playing style isn't necessarily for the worse, so I thought it would be a bit unfair to downplay his performance just because his contribution is not as obvious (but no less important) than that in 2011. If anything his tactical intelligence has improved significantly since 2011.

But on second thought it may just be down to a difference in opinions. Haha don't get me wrong but your standards seem ridiculously high;) Sterling for me was much more than decent in the last few games:)

It was predictably wrong to write him off and i was surprised so many did,he has upped his game

Most of the ones who wrote him off are the same ones who bigged up Pellegrini. I wouldn't take them too seriously on football.

Silva is looking in tiptop condition this season, makes me wonder if Pellegrini was a genius afterall, and gave a few of the worldies a year off in anticipation of Pep ;)

He's started the season brilliantly. Always thought he'd thrive under Guardiola, but wasn't sure how he'd be utilised. Seems to be thriving in his new role, and it's great to see he's embraced Guardiola's work ethic.

I think he could be our iniesta/modric players who just run football games! Always thought this was his best position but never got used in the role he occupys now

Spanish Dave is a special, beautiful player

Being very greedy and will probably never happen, but imagine if we got Modric as well? He's fantastic!

He's worked a lot harder off the ball than KDB so far, and because he possesses the ability to keep the ball really well he's arguably our most important midfielder in the system.
+1
Silva has adapted to Pep's system extremely well. For KDB it's been more of a learning experience. I expect KDB to improve vastly in the coming weeks, moving into better positions and building stamina to counter press throughout the game. KDB makes riskier passes than Silva and offers a much higher threat on goal. I think KDB compliments Silva well.

Silva hasn't had to adapt to Pep's new system or anything really. He plays the same way as he has always been. The only difference is that he plays a little deeper now and he runs more to press on defence. So really it's just a matter of his physical condition being top notch. He might've played for 2 different managers before but he's always played the Pep way.

Pretty much agree. Any difference between the way Pep wants to play and the say that Silva has always played in the past seems pretty minor. OtOH, the difference between KDB's past play and Pep's system seems to be quite a bit larger.

KDB will come good in the end though, IMO> KDB is one of our most important players and should likely start whenever fit, opposition and tactics allowing.

To be quite frank KDB isn't really Pep's type of player. He's quite wasteful with his possession although he's better now after with Pep. And he takes a lot of risk.

BUT Pep needs KDB's quality and his delivery of the final ball. Remember Thierry Henry mentioned something about Pep telling his team that his job is to carry his team to the final third of the pitch, and from there the players are on their own and they are free to play however they want in order to score. This is where KDB comes in. His final delivery in the final third is second to none in football (except Messi). Not to mention his ability to score goals there as well.

So in the end we have Gundogan and Silva dictating the possession, and KDB will continue the job and try to pick that final ball to Kun.

Anyone who thinks KDB is not a shoe-in to start is crazy. KDB would walk into Barca's, Bayern's, and Madrid's XI.

Yes, KDB isn't the blueprint Pep player.

But KDB is a special talent.

And Pep is the brightest tactical mastermind in world football.

KDB excels in making passes leading to goals - often these passes lead to turn-overs.

KDB also offers a significant goal threat, much more so than Silva.

KDB is a special player and a huge talent - I expect that Pep will bend heaven and earth to see that both KDB and Silva start every important game when both are fit unless the opposition dictates a huge shift in starting philosophy.

Yeah I sorely believe that KDB is Pep's no.1 priority signing even when we included this season's signing. He has never had a KDB type player at Barca and even at Bayern. He saw firsthand what KDB could do singlehandedly with Wolfsburg.

I agree think KDB was signed on Peps approval as the money men knew he was coming to,the club for this season
