Why would a manager/coach want to revert to another system/style to hold on to one player?

Well .... Pep could abandon his footballing principles that have made him widely thought of as the best coach in the world for Joe Hart, we could buy Andy Carroll & Hart can lump the ball up the field to his hearts content!! .....Thats a plan, not a very good one though!! :-/

There's absolutely nothing wrong with what you say. Nothing at all. And I used to feel the exact same way.

All I'm saying here and now is that very few and far between players would ever put the club ahead of their careers and that when a club acts against what may be beneficial for their careers, that it's possible for them to act up as it is human nature (I've not heard anything personally to suggest that is what Joe is doing).
Fairy nuff pal, I can agree that they are to few and far between these days.
I'll say this though, exciting times ahead. Still with Vinny, Gundogan, Sanè and Jesus to even kick a ball. I'm sure I'll find a new focus of my love among one of them.

He'll need loads of chewing gum for a start..a pretty damn proper voice so that he can shout,'Come on boys' in the tunnel, have a good sense of humour, which he'll need whenever he concedes & show some fake passion to the supporters at the ground after games..He will be on the right track.. #BienvenidoBravo

Hart is a good keeper, but his strength is in back-to-the-wall situations.
That's why his standout games (Barcelona, Dortmund, etc) tend to be the ones we've been outplayed in.
With Pep, we'll be the ones doing the outplaying nine times out of ten. The new system requires a new skill set.
Bravo is absolutely perfect for it.
Lets just hope that he has all the skill sets. There might be areas of his game that are deficient i.e. areas of the game that he doesn't see so much in La Liga such as crosses. I am sure Pep has it covered, but there's always some risk in transfers and I reckon Guardiola would say the same.

Hmm, by definition games in which goalkeepers appear to excel are ones where the defense has let them down on several occasions. Hart has made plenty of great saves in matches which we have dominated but had to be rescued from a sucker punch.
