You're banging your head against a brick wall, Kaz.

All throughout last season his bashers ignored the fact that there were rarely options short for Hart so he was forced to go long. Apparently you don't need defenders to drop off, midfielders to pull in or full backs to hit the wing.

Now Pep's here, and our players do exactly that, the same bashers give it "oh my finally someone instructs the players to make space and want the ball.
I know i am banging my head again the wall, this has proper pissed me off,i was really excited about the season 10 days ago

Que Sera and all that. The double standards of some on here however, remind me just how fickle football is.

Surely Pep doesn't rate Willy over Hart in any aspect though so why isn't Willy up for sale? Gotta be more to it than just Hart's game

I don't think he rates him above Hart, but he's happy for Caballero to be in and around the squad, whereas it seems like even if Hart wanted to stay and fight for his place the club don't want him to. I don't really get it but imagine off the field factors are influencing the decision... no idea what might have gone on though.

I'm guessing Hart's bold personality rubs Pep up the wrong way a bit.

I know what Silva and Kompany can do. I have seen it many times over recent years. So far I have seen a lot of aspirations, blind faith and wet dreams about what Pep will do. I have seen over 30 managers come and go at City and I do not judge, praise or condemn on their past reputations. One of those was a 'tough new boss' called Ron Saunders. Those who seek to establish themselves as Billy Big Bollocks often come a cropper, even Clough did at Leeds.

I hope he will do well obviously but I came out of the ground very deflated on Wednesday having seen a lot of players milling round and generally getting nowhere against a team that had no ambition and little ability. Tomorrow will be more of a test but the last thing I went is to say 'told you so'.

You might think that Silva and Kompany fit into how Pep plays the game. We don't know until it happens. Silva might not even fit into the team once the full complement of midfielders are available. Kompany body might not be up to running round in attack as well as defending.

The problem is that no one knows what will happen anymore they know the winning lottery numbers for tonight yet they are prepared to slag off fellow Blues who do not hold the 'In Pep we trust' mantra inn a blind sort of way.

One thing is for sure - I have not seen a manager who has caused so much division between the fans before the end of August.

Why not just accept the reason given? Much more likely to be true. By all accounts JH is a very personable and likeable chap. Comes across that way, and very professional too. I think it's an entirely footballing decision.

Genuine question how can hart work on his passing if the defenders arnt told to drop short or not instructed too before pep came .
I'm sure he could have gone to the technical coaches, including the GK coach, who it seems prefers Pep's style himself, and asked to work on it, outside normal training, so that he could be up to speed for Pep's arrival ? Its not for me to figure it out though, but it would have been the professional thing to do, would it not ?

The situation is beginning to hover like a dark cloud and it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
Can't say its bothering me either way, I don't care a toss what the media write, and haven't for a long time. I'm there to support Manchester City, many of my favourites have come and gone over the years, and they will continue to do so, while I carry on supporting Manchester City, and while we all think we have some influence we don't have any.

We've brought one of, if not the top coaches in world football, if this is how he wants to do it, he's far better qualified than I ever will be, so I'm happy to watch how it plays out.

Do I have any sympathy for the position Joe finds himself right now ? Of course I do, but he'll get another gig, on very good money (more than you and me will ever earn).

I agree malg.
The thing that annoys me is players refusing to budge on the salary they are currently on. Why the fuck should we subsidise a players wages at a rival club? The greedy bastards won't move for less, that's the main reason we can't shift them!

If I was Pep I'd have yaya selling burgers, Nasri sweeping the terraces, Mangala selling programmes, and Bony cleaning the bogs..... At least they'd be trying in earning their money lol.

If I was Maureenio, I'd have Bastion 'Swinetiger' banished to playing with the kids.

Oh wait a minute, seems like he already is but the man-ure media darlings say suck all about it! Hardly all over the papers and SSN is it?

Rag twats!
Why should it annoy you?
Both parties signed contracts of employment and is the hirer no longer requires your services, you have every right to stay put and see out your contract. No fault should be put on the players for that

There isn't actually much division between fans at all. It is just a handful of people on the internet are extra sad to see him go & a small handful of that small handful are resentful or rags.

Most of the singing on Wed was for Guardiola unltil the Joe Hart stuff took over a bit later, to give him a send off. Which people such as myself joined even though I know he probably has to go.

Then we have rags stirring .

What a ridiculously bizarre post.

If we had stones last season joe would have someone to pass to,he would have improved that aspect of his game,as it was he played the mp way and wasn't trained to do anything else
Can't give a fuck for Joe Hart or any other individual player if I'm honest. He's done well for us and he's been paid well for doing it. He's still got 3 years to run on a very lucrative contract and he'll do very well after that I'm sure. The only question for me at this moment in time is, have we signed a better keeper than we have let go. That should be all that matters to anyone who wishes City well. In Pep's opinion we have and that's all that matters. All this talk about giving him another season to prove himself. Really? Are we going to give him another season only to find out that he isn't good enough and we have wasted 1 year out of Pep's 3 year contract. We've waited for years to get this manager in to take us to the next level. Now he's here and trying to do that people are questioning his opinion over a goalkeeper he thinks can't play the way we are going to be playing henceforth. How is he supposed to take us to that next level if he isn't to change the personnel he feels are likely to hold us back. What about Yaya, Nasri etc, should we hang on to them as well for old times sake. Yaya has contributed to our recent success as much as if not more than Hart. I'm sorry but I just don't get this clamour to keep Joe Hart. He's not what we need anymore and I'm glad he along with others are going out the door, to be replaced by quicker, fitter, more technical players that are more suited to the new managers requirements. So to Joe, Yaya, Samir and anyone else who finds themselves surplus to City's requirements, thanks for what you've done for us, we will remember you and what you did for us with fondness, we'll give you a warm welcome if you come back to play us with another club, but don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.

I have said he has to go several times now, what i object to is the throwing him under the bus treatment he has been getting from people on here,i am really glad he got a good send off last game and i hope for all our sakes that he gets a good move, not once have i said pep is wrong to bring in bravo and move us along, this is not a pep v joe issue, not for me anyway

I have enjoyed watching some top Players win titles & cups for City in recent years & appreciate everything most of them have done.

If Pep want's to replace every single one of them, I won't give a fuck. I will think he is perhaps mistaken but I'll also expect we will end up with a stronger team in the end, as he knows what he's doing, but he won't do it like that anyway, because he knows what he is doing.

If it was Pellegrini or Brendan Rodgers then I'd be arsed. But it's not.

New manager comes in, and insists on a certain approach.

Employee A - not the best at what he does, but embraces it and says he'll give it his best.
Employee B - struggles to adapt and ultimately concludes he's never going to be able to operate in the way this new fella wants.

No surprise who gets the shirt.

Are you a City fan or a Joe Hart fan?

He's average, the fact they aren't exactly lining up to buy should tell you that. Can you imagine the queue if Neuer or De Gea came on the market.

Unless you know Joe Hart personally (I doubt you've ever seen him play in the flesh) then you should give it a rest and think yourself lucky you 'support' a team like ours.

I think this is a big mistake by the club, not only is Hart a better keeper than Caballero and Bravo he is English and a great spokesman for the club. These things matter and in his long and mainly distinguished career with this club he has earned the right to be treated with more compassion by the club and some of the fans on here. His form has been poor and the situation needed some addressing but the way it is being handled has spoiled any joy for me at the arrival of Pep. Hart could and would have adapted, it's not hard to throw or pass the ball ten yards. I should be so exited about watching the team I love go back top again tomorrow but I will have one eye on the dugout and will tut my way through the game.
