Aguero banned for three games (updated)

Contrary to what a lot of people are saying, I don't think the FA really want to ban him. The Derby is the biggest match of the season so far and will be broadcast around the world. The FA will want the best players playing in what is one of the show-piece games of the season for the Premier League. If there's any legitimate grounds for us to say it should only have been a yellow I think they'd go along with it. Still think he'll get the 3 game ban though because the evidence looks pretty clear to me.

If they didn't want to ban him, why did they break their own rules to charge him?
"Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite match officials."

It wasn't off the ball and the match officials clearly saw it.

Reid didn't make a meal of it he got caught by Sergio's hand on the follow through in his adams apple which if you've ever been hit there will know it hurts like fuck!
Can you show me any still which shows contact with his Adam's apple? The answer by the way is no as he made no contact in that area

SSN said it's because the people from City that would usually deal with it are dealing with transfers so essentially it's because it's deadline day they've given us extra time
Christ, how busy can they be......

'can we have one of your players on loan and you pay the vast majority of their wages?'

'yep'

'thanks'

As I'm sure you know a still doesn't tell facts as it can easily be misinterpreted, I just used those to evidence my point rather than post the video, which if you watch closely will see no elbow contact is made (nothing anywhere near his forehead despite papers using a still that makes it look like he elbowed his forehead) - his hand hits the side of his throat (adams apple) which Reid immediately clutches (not his head).

This, going off a tangent anyway I was replying to some snarky comment that was clearly wrong. The specifics don't help anyone on here.

Has anybody said anything about reids right hand clocking Sergio on the side of his head in this same incident?

Bilic said he asked his team to get more aggressive in the second half. Reid and Sergio were involved in a penalty area challenge earlier in the second half. I didn't see it clearly but wonder if that had any bearing on the later incident?

the only defense Aguero can use is to say that he was simply trying to shake off the player who was all over him prior to the alleged incident.the west ham player makes contact first, still don't think it will do him any good though.
has a player ever got off the hook once charged by the FA??

this is why the game is wrong for wanting video evidence its a fast game and mistakes happen and in fairness its the talking points that are life blood of the sport. so bringing up something the ref seen in play and let go is wrong for the game and video evidence does not show the speed and weight and intent and can be made to look like anything you want it. so if the FA are using video evidence can it be legal in today's world of technology we all how it can but cropped photshop slowdown change just watch monday night football and when they use there technology they can move players over the pitch i would not trust skysports
