Derby post match thread 10/09/2016

I don't understand why everyone is so ecstatic about the result of this match.
After all, we've not played a top four side yet.

But the build up to the game was such that they were a Top 2 side. We didn't know they were hyping so much about a fancy Stoke side. It's quite funny looking back at all the quotes before the match.

I love the smell of victory on a Monday morning.

Catching up on all the press and this one stood out for me... Not only did we well and truely mop the floor with them but that was their lowest home possession share since 03/04 - 39%, wow.

At last we are getting the recognition we deserve. MOTD was a pleasure to watch for once, Shearer wasnt a gobshite, and even the papers have been a joy to read.

Happy Mondays :)

Best thing for me is that people are saying they played well second half. If that's them 'playing well' then happy days. I was less worried in that last 30 minutes than I was when Fletcher scored to make it 1-3! As for them being unlucky with the 'penalty', I'd have more truck with that if they'd been battering us for half an hour and it was yet another last ditch challenge. They hadn't and it wasn't!
As it was, they created nothing and the non-penalty only came about thanks to a heavy touch by Bravo, NOT due to any attacking prowess from them. As I said, if that's them playing well.......

eh? highlights were still slanted against us...
I thought so at first, but to be fair it would be difficult to convey our first half performance through highlights. There weren't that many chances or incidents in the half - just us making them chase shadows for 40 minutes, passing it around for fun. As beautiful as it was to watch live, it's not really something you can turn into a highlights reel.

Amazing first 40 minutes by The Old Sky Blues, we gifted them a goal and just didn't put the match to bed! My 15th visit to that shithole, and the first time I've seen us win there....Spanish Dave and KDB were simply unplayable.

Thought watch the first half on scum.tv to listen to paddy squirming in fact it was less bias than sky paddy even said city have been Magnificent was hoping for them to moaning crying.

I didnt see that tbh, I saw highlights of how well we played and Shearer actually state we deserved the win hands down. about time.

I asked my brother yesterday had he seen the game, he said he hadn't, that he'd just seen the highlights on MOTD, he remarked how surprised he was about the footage because he had read a report about how good City were but that it didn't come across like that from what they showed.

are they still saying jose the PEG was there first pick of managers and did not want PEP hahahahahahhaha

everything from them was said in the week before the game the media and tv and internet they was so giddy about what they are going to do to manchester city but from the blue camp we just did the talking on the pitch and YES it could have been over before halftime if we had AGUERO and now we know why the media went to town on us and getting the ban in place. we would have been talking about and much better score line than the 1.6 it could have been 10 (TEN) YES IT COULD

and funny how PEG seen the so called to pen shouts and not the clear as day pen on otamendi and how rooney stayed of the field he was lucky with 4 tackles that easy would have been cards we are still not a finnish project by any means and we can see a BAD pre-season when players was on international football and no pre-season at all and late new signings and only 6 games to build a sqaud. i really think in 10 games time and stay injury free to key players we will be ready for anybody

Back in the days pre takeover, I used to get a running commentary of texts from a rag mate (armchair) about all the incidents in all their games, how he was just opening a bottle of reserva to watch their Champions League games etc (still wiped the fucking floor with him & left him with steam coming out of his ears, even when we were relatively shit). This stopped the day we beat Stoke at Wembley (I saw a text when I was coming home that day gloating about their title, as if I fucking cared). I see him sometimes in person & he also texts re other stuff (works abroad) but never Utd/City related apart from 'lost interest in football, as it's not the same anymore' .

Until they won at our place last season, then I got 'normal service is resumed'. To which I replied 'I thought you were dead' & he claimed he had changed phones & lost my number.

Recently, he texted he would be coming over here, round about now & he'd get in touch, for a beer. I haven't texted him re the game, because I know, I don't need to, he has already got a picture of my face, in his head, taking the piss out of him.

And, he won't tell me he's here now. He'll just spend a few days over here, then go back, without saying anything. If I pull him up about it in the future, he'll claim he was 'too busy' with work or he would, of course have contacted me to go for a beer.

This is how sad they are.

Hilarious.

Sounds like a ****. He'd be getting fuck all response from me. I've got a load of utd supporting mates and if you give it you take it.

I watched it and not sure how they select their highlights but to hear Shearer say Sublime, superb, that Stones was worth every penny, football was great on the eyes, front foot football, leaving Utd behind.... was strange, not even sure it happened now I think again!""

They did miss the rooney ball grab thing, and the Rooney being a twat but we all know that anyway. Other than that, quite nice to see the BBC having to cowtowel to pure good football.

Yep, the analysis was fine but the footage wasn't reflective of the game.
