Pep: 'The players deserve a full stadium, we need our fans!'

Well tbf Pep, if no-one can buy a match ticket on the day of the game when ko was only decided at 10 pm the night before....

Wouldn't have been much better yesterday.

Maybe Pep's comments will give some a kick up the arse. No excuses for this game. Tickets were decently priced.

Just about to start a thread of myself. It needs addressing. The apathy has to stop and we need to embrace what we are seeing on the pitch. Its embarrassing and we have no excuse as a set of fans on the whole. Half of the prem teams would surpass our attendances in the Champs League if they had the stadium to boot.
Prices are reasonable, We are in a golden age. Just don't understand it why we can't at least get near the 50k mark. Is getting to the ground on a week night during rush hour the main problem?
Has the novelty worn off. We should be selling out both Celtic and Barca no excuses, hopefully the penny will have dropped with some fans to raise above the apathy and watch Pep's city team on the elite stage. We're a strange old club. Remember Watford in the FA Cup (3rd or 4th round) the other year and nearly selling out and then we play Bayern, Madrid and struggle to sell the tickets.

We have to play our part and PEP has already addressed it (rightly so)

No excuses? How about childcare arranged for last night but not possible tonight?
Those who work shifts and had already booked off last night with no option to postpone?
And that just accounts for me and the man I sit next to.
Give your head a wobble; while a lot of us do what we can to be available for home games, it's not as if we don't have other factors to consider.
Or am I just not a big a blue as you?

Does our fan base have a strong youth population or family with children? Maybe it's the type of fan base we have.

Seems there are a lot of super fans on this thread, slagging off those that actually went. Hypocrites. I thought those that went made more noise than a full stadium usually does at the weekend. Fair play.

Superb result but some just want to slag off fellow blues for going or not going and leaving whenever they want. Sad fuckers.

If the game was on a Saturday afternoon it may have sold out - night matches are much lower demand.

I agree the point has been made and they got the message... to continue it now years after is just small time. There's a really good vibe about the Champions League happening right now for us this season so while spoil it.
Years after? It was this calendar year that, after being found guilty of racist chanting, Kiev fans were allowed to attend their game against us after being told they were banned originally.

They are an organisation that condones racism, that deserves booing. And there are rumours that more prize money will go to previous winners of the comp than to clubs like us, that deserves booing.

Boo your heads off Blues!

You said it, there are some super fans on here who for some reason think they are bigger blues than others for whatever reason. Load of bollocks IMO.

There will be plenty with decent reasons like that, but this many? Nope.

The attendance was gonna be poor last night too.

Nothing to do with being 'super fans' or anything like that. Hardly a 'super fan' for turning up to a CL game at home, esp. now with the team as it is managed by one of the greatest ever. @Paul Lake's Left Knee

He also has to realise we don't all have bottomless pockets, I know the games are relatively cheap, but flog them for a £10 each and kids for £5 and the place will be full, otherwise people will pick premier league over CL everyday of the week. Thankfully we are away at Swansea in the cup otherwise that would have been 3 home games in a row, it's asking a lot of people to fork out that kind of money, when you look how much Bayern and Barca charge their fans for a season, maybe he can have a word with whoever sets our season ticket prices.

The changing the coefficient rules to help clubs that were good decades ago deserves the boos on its own, never mind Platini being corrupt, the pious alcohol bans and very poor anthem.

I think what a few are getting at is that it probably would have been full despite the rescheduling. It's been a theme ever since we have been in the CL. Some of the attendances in the games have been a bit embarrassing

No idea what the solution is to address it though. There should be nothing to address with what we have on offer now. Our owners probably can't do anymore!

Small time... people need to stop sulking like little kids an man the fuck up! UEFA didn't ignore it they issued a fine and a stadium ban, they accepted the club itself tried to take steps to prevent it happening again also. It's kind of like the booing itself though isn't it... there's only so much a club can do to control certain behavior.

As for the sensationalist paragraph highlighted... trying too hard, let it go.

Absolutely. The players deserve it now. If you turn up you will be rewarded in a big way. Absolute champagne football. If you don't wanna watch this then you may as well go and start a chess club or something. It's incredible. I stood on my own and clapped them all off til they were down the tun el tonight. It was an absolute privilege to watch them AGAIN tonight. Bring on saturday

Football of that quality deserves a full house. I would guess that last night it would have been around 40,000, Spurs have just sold 80,000 plus . We use to get 30,000 in the third division .

There's no need for Pep to comment on it. We don't have the groupy fans his previous clubs have had.
