Vincent Kompany - 2016/17 performances

I say he shouldn't get ahead of Stones and Otamendi as they've been brilliant. He should be used as a back up to these 2
He shouldn't get ahead of Stones and Ota because they have been brilliant?

Really? That's not how it works. He'll get ahead of either of them if and when he surpasses their level of performance which as we know, Vinny is very likely to do.

He is simply leagues ahead of Stones and better than Otamendi by a wide margin as well.

But the thing is that we're not so desperate to get him playing again because we're struggling at the back that we need to risk further injury.

I like how Pep is treating this situation, would be heartbreaking to see the lad break down 5 minutes into a return. Again.

At least this way everything that can be done has been done.

Dunno how true,or even how they'd know, but that 90min.com saying his return is being delayed due to "toxins found in his blood"...anyone?

Sorry,just read back,your on it.

It's quite straight fowards really, i think people are getting het up with pep calling it a toxin i think this will be the last shot for vinny, exhausting all the options this time, fingers crossed he doesn't break down again,i'm forever holding my breath when he plays
Yea when I heard Toxin ,I thought has he been drinking lead ?

my first thread so bear with me:
The captain has been training hard and looks quite ready but all we hear is that his blood tests aren't ready; and today i read that he's still not ready yet... the message is cryptic enough for the supporters to not worry plus we are winning beautifully....
so i ask: do you think Pep just does not fancy Vinny and is biding his time until the supporters are satisfied with the string of wins before he gets rid of him (next year)?
I'm guessing that would have been too much of a clean house, together with the Yaya, Joe etc... well a lot of people dislike Yaya so no repercussions there... with Joe; you hear a lot of "if the replacement is better then we can live with his departure... but with Kompany; i think that would have been too much all at once... so he is slowly weaning the supporters...
your thoughts?

Yep, get rid, he's shit.

I understand that but it's been almost 6 month for a muscle injury... it's not like he has had major surgery... isn't it too long?

6 months for a series of muscle injuries.

I reckon he's been held back until the League Cup game.

I hope he's not introduced for a while yet. Let Stone and Otamendi continue to build their partnership. Kompany is a great insurance policy in case either is injured/suspended. For now at least.

We don't need him back yet. He certainly won't replace Stones, so it's Otamendi's spot he's after. It's a difficult one for the manager.

If it ain't broke....
No need to risk him for the time being.
He is drinking at last chance saloon so need to get his return absofuckinglutely right this time or he'll be gone.

Love him to bits but for as long as we can cope without him we should continue to do so. We need to get to a stage where we're as strong without him as we are with him as unfortunately, he can't rely on him being available. We've been too reliant on him for the past two seasons and it's really hurt us. He's an amazing cover option and will still get a decent number of games.
