This is the point though isn't it. 'Raising hands', 'Making contact', 'Violent conduct'. I find the definitions of these very open to interpretation. Smith's hand was raised and made contact with Stirling's face. Judging the guy as a bit of a wind-up, I don't doubt he intended to leave his mark on Stirling. I don't think it warrants a sending off, I just find it bizarre how on the other hand, two grown men squaring up to each other can be perceived to be 'violent'. It was hand bags at best and the ref should have told the pair of them to grow up.
