Swansea away

Thanks for thar we r staying over on Saturday night so that will come in handy
We are going in the morning staying Friday and Saturday night, going down to the marina area tomorrow afternoon didn't get there last season apparently some good bars there, Saturday we will be in the cross Keys pub it's near the bus stop to the ground and then into the Harvester at the ground for a couple. Saturday night there's a Indian restaurant near the travel lodge where we are staying so might give that a try

always park on neath rd, approx 1 mile from ground, never had a problem, pub called smiths, was in there last night does good food, another pub down rd , hafod is closed though, mate is staying in neath and said £110 for 3 nights and couple of quid for train to swansea

People who know Swansea well will know Wine Street. I was there yesterday and its full of bars and restaurants. We parked near the ground and used the park and ride scheme. There was a bus every 15 mins and its only 5 mins into the centre. Its a bit of a walk though probably about 30 mins. There's a Harvester outside the ground where you can drink but I would recommend the centre. If your coming by train, come out of the station and turn left and walk straight down the main road until reach a mini roundabout you will see a Yates, Opposite is the Walkabout pub. This is the start of a strip full of bars and restaurants. I would recommend a huge pub called the Cross Keys which does cheap food (Pie and a pint for £5) if you walk past Yates you will a pub called the Griffin turn right down an alleyway and you will see it on your left. There is Wetherspoons pub called the Bank Statement further down the strip. Another good boozer I recommend would be the Jack Murphy (Irish bar believe it or not) at the other end of the strip next to revolution. Its cheap beer and plays good music, I think they have a live band on every Saturday night from 7pm. Spoilt for choice and gutted I'm not back for the weekend game.
As someone who now lives in Swansea I wouldn't say you should go left out of the station you need to walk straight down the road (High St) to get to Wind St.

The ground is only 20-25 min walk from the city centre.

For something a bit nicer I'd recommend drinks and food in SA1 (Riverhouse) or the Marina (Pumphouse) rather than Wind St. This adds another 5 mins to your walk.

The sea front is pretty nice and for broader views of the surrounding area you could also go to the Grape and Olive (in the marina, (top floor of the big tower on the sea front))

Yates' is a big decent pub just on the square in the city centre, me and the missus were there a few weeks ago for food. Cheap and cheerful food and does the job.
on a nice day you can sit in the square surrounded by fountains and watch tv on the big screen outside macdonalds.

I wouldnt fancy the walk from there/wind street to the Liberty though. Thats got to be a good half hour and the forecast is for rain tomorrow, especially after the game, it looks like its going to piss down.

id get a Tacsi or a bws to the ground boyos.

I wouldn't wait for a bus to get you back to the station. Always walked (25/30 mins) looking out for the bus but have never seen one!

The buses back from the ground to the station stop right behind the away end actually in the ground. Usually 5 or 6 are lined up. You can wait awhile for them to set off though. On the other hand, if you want to walk, it's all downhill to the City centre. Either way you should get down to Wind St area in time for the half 5 kickoff

Great info! Going down Friday evening and staying until Sunday, so will check a fair few of these out
