Swansea V City post match thread

Just watched it. Should have scored 5. But iffy first half with some sloppy passing. Battered them second half and should have scored more from some very good positions.
Looked like gundogan was closer to dinho first half and kdb was inside a lot more. Looked unbalanced. Second half we went to the normal midfield shape with silva wider and kdb/gundogan central and we were much better.

If Raheem could kick a ball properly he would have scored 3 today. Other than his shooting he was excellent.

Too right.
Having seen the incident a couple of times now, can somebody tell me why Van der Hoorn wasn't sent off? The ref clearly saw it so why no red card? It was a shocking deliberate elbow and it really could have broken Kev's jaw. A horrible piece of play that was totally unnecessary.
Anyone who calls that 'soft' has to have a pathological hatred of City.

I'm far from having a pathological hatred for City mate. But the penalty was as debatable as the one the scum claimed. Not saying it was soft. It was debateble. And the defender made that happen.

Other than that we deserved to win the game. It was not a Pep like win and the subs could easiy have been Pellegrini's. Still wondering if there was a MOTM. I can't think of one tbh.

Infuriating! Sky's summation of the van der hoorn strike on KdB... 'not sure it was a pen?????' WTF? What was the difference between van der hoorns face strike on Kev and Sergios hand to face that caused the Sky witch hunt to get Kun banned???? The agenda hasn't gone away IMO

Matt Holland said it was a soft pen as well.

It seems that you're allowed to elbow our players

There's not one game this season we haven't deserved to win - regardless of the odd shaky moment.
Very true. We've been better than every team we've played.

Andrew Longmore, writing in the Sunday Times calls the penalty controversial ... says further KDB compounded a wretched afternoon by going off injured

So I guess he's not a fan of us either

The Telegraph, The Guardian, the Independent all changed their first published stories from "soft penalty" to "penalty" after their journalists saw the elbow on TV replays. It's as bad as Aguero's effort and in slow motion (as always) it looks a lot worse! The Elbow (just) misses Kev's face jand he gets a forearm smash. Quite deliberate too as there is a little glance before delivery.

I think you may be rather exaggerating the severity of the contact mate. 'Shocking' it wasn't.

Arguably our poorest performance of the season and yet we still scored three and were relatively unscathed. The amount of quality in the squad will bail us out even if we're below par.

The fact we're winning games whilst being poor is ominous for the rest of the league, we keep saying this but if it all clicks we're gonna smash a big side 4 or 5 nil.

We are still not being ruthless enough when we get the opportunity. We are making chances, some which look easier to score than miss. If we are to go on be champions, we need to put these away. Something that no doubt will be in Peps mind too.
Good movement off the ball from everyone. Ilkay is a dream to watch, some if his passing and movement is amazing.

Agreed.

Both on Wednesday and yesterday almost ever killer pass was a little short. I'm not making excuses for the players but maybe there was an issue with the pitch? I also noticed quite a few slipping, Sagna a prime example for the goal.

Why are people on this forum still finding supposed faults with our team?
We should have scored more, Bravo is incompetent, Silva shouldn't have started etc etc.
Manchester City are top of the league.
P6 W6. (P10 W10.) Pep is our manager. There are long periods in games where we play some wonderful football.
Where, once upon a time, when the opposition drew level, we would most likely fall apart and drop points, that isn't the case now.
FFS!
Get real, get behind the team and appreciate what we have and where we are going.

they over watered the pitch making it heavy and slow for the players of both teams but its a leveller and stops the speed of pass and sticks under your feet you just need to get it out with another touch and that's the killer in the style we move it around but like i said its for both teams and swansea are a good football playing team and played very well but lack that bit of magic we have

its that time of the year when teams will use a heavy pitch to slow the game down and pep and city will have to get use to playing away in the premier league when teams will use anything to get at us. water the pitch (water log). long grass. uneven hard pitch. sand just about everything they can get away with to stop us free flowing football
