City v Saints post match

There is cool, calm and collected in defence and then there is swashbuckling cavalier casual. The latter should not appear among seasoned professionals at a top club.

We haven't just tied a point apiece for EFC and Soton in Christmas wrapping - we have gift-wrapped them with sky blue bows and tinsel.

And I swear I heard the back three singing jingle bells on the way back to the half way line.

I don't look upon the last two home games as gifts to the opposition - I think it was four solid points toe-bunged into the Ashton Canal.

This game threw up some big questions in my opinion.
- 3 at the back? Did this contribute to Stones mistake. Are the players really comfortable going to this when they haven't been playing it for most of the season?
- can we really fit Silva, Kev, Ferna and Gundogan all in the starting XI? Is it too easy to counter with a packed midfield?
- do we look better with Nolito starting? I think we do

don't think 3 at the back contributed directly tot he goal but it doesn't work for us which leads to your second point

trying to fill all this eplayes in isn't working ....we looked a lot more fluid early season playing 4 a the back...if you wan to fit them all in ferna has to play fullback...i actually think it would be a pretty good call to play him there

yes we look better with Nolito on........and with sterling on the right

Agreed. Pelligrini got hung drawn and quartered for "not having a plan B". I think the quote-du-jour last season was "senile old ****"

We may end up missing that senile old **** in a few weeks.

bollocks

MP never changed anything unless forced to...pep changes systems more time in a game than MP did in his entire 3 years at the club

Maybe if we cut out the individual mistakes and stop giving the opposition the lead we might win a fucking game!

Luis Enrique has won a lot at Barca too which suggests to me that having the greatest footballer of all time in your XI does make things slightly easier. Bayern did what Bayern do. Which is not to say that I don't think Pep is a great coach but I do think his intransigence on this is going to cost us big time.

I disagree in so much he is only asking players to pass the ball.

It isnt a completely new thing to them or it shouldn't be and today, he had a complete brain fart and passed it to nobody.

He will learn, as will the team and in a few years time we as fans wont even be mentioning it.

We wont and there is zero need to even mention him other than to stir the shit which isnt really on is it?

A bad day at the office where our passing and control had reasserted us, but kept plugging away and could have nicked it if we would only shoot first time.
Top of the league despite being at only the start of a steep learning curve and rebuild.
Some should try and understand where we are and find what we a trying to achieve fascinating and absorbing rather than having tantrums.

Did you even watch the match? Pep made a change instantly in the second half bringing on Nacho which got us back into the game and then later in the game he dropped Dinho back into defence to make it a 4-4-2 of sorts which made us look a lot more solid. To say he has no plan B is laughable.

No we wont so calm down dear. We have the best manager and qe are right in the mix. Pelligrini set this team back years wuth his decisions so have a little patience eh. The balance wasnt quite there today against a decent side. Watch us in the new year when we get a couple of dynamic full backs. I presume you are a city fan??

Guardiola is completely different to Pellegrini in that Pep seems to always be thinking during the match, and probably when he gets home too, whereas Manuel quite often appeared to be asleep. My criticism with Guardiola isn't that he is doing too little but that maybe given what's at his disposal he's trying too much. It is laudable in a way but if it ends up with another league title passing us by it will be sad. In terms of titles I think we are already at least one behind where this team of exceptionally talented players should be.

Thought Stones goal should have stood, but we were pretty toothless today.

Thought Southampton were a bunch of simulating, cheating time wasters; ironic that it took Twatenburg until injury time to book one of them.

Oh, and NQIAC!

I think all the negative guys posting are on the wrong side of history typical men got no balls keep the faith pep will get it right :-)
