Sergio Aguero - 2016/17 performances

When you see him play like he did tonight, you realise just how far below his best he was last year and why Pep has made it his little project to give him the belief to dominate defences like that.

Dipping the shoulder and skipping past defenders like they aren't there, dribbling past 2 or 3 like cones and linking play between the wings and passing - every time he got the ball I was smiling and excited knowing something would happen.

Didn't score but did everything else, pressed, hassled defenders, helped the build up, started the attacks (tackle on Messi).

Makes those rumours he wanted out of City look even more of a joke. Ran himself into the ground, pressed them, won the ball back a lot and set up some great attacks.

One of the best career performances by Aguero. Never seen him this involved in our build up. Was tackling players, running around and fighting for the ball all over the pitch and yet somehow was always a threat in the box. God-level performance.

Happy for Kun.

Wasn't selfish for one second today. Hope he can stay fit for an extended period. Pep is going to take him to greatness. Really showed his quality today. A complete performance despite no goal.

MOTM tonight and he didn't need to score, Jack Russell temperament with some great vision, a vital part of every attacking play.

These past two games have been immense from Sergio, he seemed involved in everything good going forward, the scary thing for the rest of Europe he could be set for the form of his life as his confidence grows... he could even improve.

I need to post in this thread. I have really had my doubts about Sergio for some time now. His play has just been increasingly selfish, but not just selfish, also one dimensional. I have no idea what Pep and he has discussed but he has been an absolute revelation the last two matches. His head is up and he's picking out teammates while still providing goal threat. He's pressing and getting on the ball in dangerous positions but also going wide and making runs behind defenders who are trying to collapse the space in our midfield. If he can maintain this form and build on from it we are going to be so outrageously dangerous.

Over the moon and it's all blurred into one but i am right in thinking our third goal started with him tackling Messi in our box then hurtling up the pitch to get on the end of the Navas cross? Or was it two seperate moments?
