On Sunday West Ham United visit for United’s 13th league outing. “At least I want someone to come here and play better than us and beat us,” Mourinho said. “Then you can go home and say these guys were better than us. After the Arsenal match I go home and my feeling is that I have lost.”

Didn't we do that?

Nope. The correct scoreline was 5-1 to the rags and they should have had 10 penalties and we should have had 5 men sent off and the ref missed everything and gave them nothing.

Ever since that game, in the post-match interviews and press conferences, the pre-game for the next week and several times since, he basically rewrote the history of that match. He said repeatedly that we were basically ok for a half, but they dominated and should have gotten something after the second half.

The reality of course being that they had a good 5 minutes after we gifted them a goal, and after that they did nothing, while we butchered 3 or 4 golden opportunities on the counter and KDB hit the post twice. It should have been 4-1 at least, but he's convince himself, and a large section of their fans, that's not the case.

They have been playing ever so slightly better than last season but the squad still has major issues. Zlatan is ageing by the week. Rooney is finished at the very top level. Rashford has regressed and was never as god as they were making out. They have poor fullbacks and centre halfs. They will not get top 4 and will have to spend a fortune to try and get in next year.

That was the stance when we trounced Chelsea 3:0 last season at home........and so it begins again.

That first paragraph was repeated ad nauseam by every rag fan I spoke too for weeks and weeks after the game, they keep clutching at them straws.
