Burnley v City - pre-match

IMO This is going to go one of two ways, the players are tired after being way midweek, we will either scrape a draw due to some comical defending or snatch a 1-0 'Alamo Style' win.
Burnley know we are knackered and will just let us have the ball to pass & pass as we do, side 2 side without penetration. I think we should go for 2 strikers and also fcuking SHOOT instead of looking for the 'holy pass' & a tap in.

Full English then on our way weather spoons few scoops city 3-1 great day
Could do with one meself!

Whatever the result is I'm just hoping we can put out 2 halves of consistency. Too many games we are starting off amazing but then dropping in the second half.

Got a feeling we will do what we did at west brom need an early goal they will have to come out then that's when hopefully we will take advantage

............................Bravo
Sagna.........Stones.........Otamendi........Kolarov
Sterling........Fernando.....Yaya.............Nolito
.........................Silva
.......................Iheanacho

Mix it up a little. I think Kelechi and Nolito need to start, plus Nolito gives better balance on the left - Sterling is wasted there.

Probably a bit slow and immobile with Yaya and Fernando, but can't keep playing Fernandinho.

Gives us good options from the bench with Kun, Sane, Gundogan and De Bruyne.

Not too sure about the 'play Aguero into form' thinking. Give him a rest and go from there.

We were bastard horrible the last time we played Burnley at Turf Moor.

It won't be easy again despite their recent 4-0 loss to a poor WBA side.

The options on the bench I would prefer would be to close a game out, not to rely upon to get us back into a game. Strongest starting line us as possible always for me and rest if comfortable

v the Rags in his first game for starters when he gifted Zlatan a goal. Then there was Barcelona. Also, his poor clearance against Gladbach nearly cost us a goal. Not saying he's a bad keeper. I want him to do well for us, and if he saves us more points than he gives away, then I'll be more than happy.

The howler against the rags was equally JS's fault. Getting sent off was bad, near misses do not in my view constitute "a howler" .
Just you said "another howler" inferring them to be commonplace, when the reality is he doesn't.

Got a feeling we're going to be in for a tough date. Hoping to see a few changes to the starting XI to freshen things up a bit. Be good to see the likes of Clichy, Toure, Nolito and Iheanacho start today.

+1 always easier to get in front than come from behind, particularly if we start slow and poor as we too often do. rarely do you see City playing badly in first 20 minutes then pick it up

Id like to see Toure, Nolito and Nacho too, not sure about Clichy though. I think left Back is our biggest problem area by far. If Kolarov has to play, id much rather see him at CB than LB and Clichy was poor on the goals against Everton and Boro. doesnt say much about Angelino if he cant get a game in front of these two

Well he ain't cost us a league point yet so he's got plenty of credit in the account.

Burnley are good at home. They beat Liverpool and Evrton and should really have drawn with Arsenal. It would be difficult without the Champions League game, with it makes it more difficult.

Important we don't gift them any stupid goals.

So what we've really established is that Bravo has in fact made fewer mistakes leading to goals than John Stones?

Bring back Mangala!!!

More often than not I would agree with you.

I just think we need to freshen it up a touch, can't keep playing the likes of Fernandinho and De Bruyne constantly - although Fern, wrongly did have a bit of a rest Wednesday evening.

Also, I think we look a little unbalanced with all three of Gundogan, Silva and De Bruyne in midfield at the moment.

I'm not sure how much we played within in ourselves against Monchengladbach, it's possible we held back a little with this early kick-off in mind, and therefore we might go with what you suggest.

Currently, I am just not certain the best eleven on paper so to speak offers us the best balance.

Undoubtedly though, once it clicks someone is in for a good old hiding.
