Hull (a) Post Match Thread

Silva's hanging back, clearly expecting a square pass in front of the defender. KDB tells him what he's going to do so he accelerates into the space in front of him and gets a yard on the full back. He then has room to pull a beautiful ball to Iheanacho. But he shouldn't need to be told. Silva should be telling KDB where to put the ball.

I think he's actually pointing for Kelechi to run across.

4 at the back is key to our success with the current players.
I hope Pep will stick with this now

Until we scored I thought we looked bang average. Hull who I believe will go down had chances to go ahead and seriously embarrass us.

Where is the closing down and decisive football. Thank god for KDB, he is the one player who really looks to create and make things happen.

Pep needs to get this team playing with far more tempo and less of the sideways passing. Many a time today I watched an easy pass when a better one was on to make things happen.

We've gone backwards, Mancini's team would have wiped the floor with this lot

First of all, we won 3-0 so dry your fucking eyes.

Second of all, Mancini is a bang average manager who happened to be the right guy for us at a specific time. He had as many glaring weaknesses as he did strong points and has achieved next to fuck all since leaving.

Sorry if that sounds harsh but it's the truth. The sooner you and others accept it, the sooner we can stop hearing the nostalgic fantasies of grown men who think he's part unicorn.

The Team played well today away from home, and critically didn't concede. The game management was excellent for the best part, and key players put a shift in; including Ota and Kolarov when he came on. Remember that until Kelchi came on, we didn't have a recognised striker on the pitch, although our midfielders are more than capable of contributing to the score sheet.

The Premier League is a very difficult league. Not like Spain or Germany, where there are 3 or 4 exceptional Teams and the rest are bang average or worse. Every Team in the Prem is capable of beating the best Teams on their day. It will take Pep a while to get to grips with this, and he hasn't yet had a fully fit squad to pick from each game. We have players out in key areas front to back (except our keepers), and I can't see this changing before the end of season. This is a learning season for the manager. If we win anything then it will be a bonus. If we don't then it is no major shakes (unless we finish outside the top 4). By the start of next season Pep will have had a whole season to bed in, and 2 transfer windows to get his squad together for next season. Judge him after the first 12 matches next season.

You have to remember that until the playoff final in 99, we were looking at potentially playing teams like S****horpe and Wrexham in the following season. Trips to Wallsall and Preston N.End could have been regular fixtures in our calendar if we hadn't had a change in fortune. Look at Lincoln and Macclesfield who both went down from our league that season. They are now playing in the 5th tier of English football. In perspective, being second top in the whole football league structure (albeit 7 points off the top of the pile) isn't really a bad place to be considering our recent past.

(Edit: is wasn't me that blanked out the word c**t from Scun*thorpe).

I agree, but if anybody is to thank its Raheem for winning that penalty.

We're gonna win nowt. Loads of players not good enough. The goalie, put under excruciating pressure from instructions to play/pass the ball out to piss poor defenders, who eventually end up hoofing it to our relief. Up front, without Aguero, there's nothing, we need a 6'4" centre forward for back up. Our wingers, Nolito, Sterling, Navas, are too slow in thought and piss poor in execution of any kind of pass or shot. We've gone backwards, Mancini's team would have wiped the floor with this lot.
Are you serious? Sincere question x

We won 0-3. The scoreline flattered us. Against Liverpool we'll get a stuffing. I hope I'm wrong.
I hope you are wrong. The Dippers should get a good working over by Stoke tomorrow, which will soften them a bit. Sergio will be back, and desperate to put in a good performance. They will try and play open, fast passing football (like the Arse) which will suit us down to the ground. With our added firepower upfront, we should have too much for them. I can see us winning comfortably.

I truly hope so......you still on the ale?

It's just that everyone knows that our keeper has to pass the ball out, or he's fired. We get the high press, all of the time, we don't have skilful, two footed footballers at the back who are good enough to play this way. We, as fans, ( well me anyway) are watching this go on, screaming inside, to get rid. This part of Pep's system is causing frantic chaos, giving opposition confidence and costing us goals and points. The forwards I mentioned, dilly dally like nobody's business and struggle to create sufficient chances. We rarely pepper a goalie and make him work. Maybe their young and it will come. I fear a few more 'Leicester's' coming our way. At the moment, would be delighted to achieve a top 4 slot. Oh, and win the European Cup!

You predicted we'd lose 0-3 to Arsenal ("being generous") and 0-2 to Watford. That you'd still come in here with another bed wetting prediction after being so spectacularly wrong beggars belief.

I'm doing well ain't I. ....... Tee hee. Just lacking confidence in them at the moment. I really hope we will go there and everything click into place, and we end up giving them a stuffing instead.

Yeah, but his team were monsters. We destroyed teams.

I'll take three points regardless.

Too many flappers moving the goal posts in here. First it's moaning that we weren't picking up points like Chelsea do in tight games, then it's moaning when we do but aren't "stuffing" teams like the Mancini era with nostalgia tinted glasses.

People need to wake up. It's a different league and we've got the best manager in the world trying to implement his system which takes time, a lot of time, to acclimatise to. Yet here we are, second and starting to build some rhythm for the stretch.

Time for the fans to step up and stop wetting the bed over every single PL team. We can beat them all, dippers included.
