Your comment suggests to me that you would feel bad calling anyone a dickhead (which is a good thing), and that you would expect the majority of people not to enjoy being called a dickhead (which is also a good thing). The problem here is that if we're to accuse someone of ableism, then it's vitally important that both the relationship and intention can be fully justified. Indeed, many people with a disability will often strongly emphasise that they want you to see them as 'the person' not 'the disability'.It's about self awareness fella and he doesn't have any, I wouldn't call a disabled person a dick head even if they were being one, it might not make much sense but it's all about how it would make me feel rather than anything else.
The hurt factor can only really be gauged upon the relationship between the people in question, and the intented meaning of the alleged insult/comment.
