Everton v City post match

I think, with Pep in charge, we will win the league next year, and the following year we will dominate it.
Thus, whatever happens this season falls under the category "acceptable".
I think he (Pep) deserves the privilege to be wring, time to adapt, time to overcome. I have no doubt in my mind he will do this, given the backing of the board and commitment of the players.

I do think, however, we will see a pretty much brand new side walk out on the pitch in two years time. Many players will be sold during this journey. But it will end in success.

The only change to the starting 11 from the WHU game was Bravo. Now, I was prepared to give Bravo a chance but he just doesn't seem to have the passion of JH and the defence haven't got a clue what he's doing half the time. None of the players seem to have any confidence in him at all. Pep has a big decision to make now; drop him or carry on regardless. I'd stick big willy between the sticks. He commands the area better than Bravo, and he's a bit more predictable. Obviously you don't get in the Barcelona team if you are a s**t player, but I just don't think Bravo has adapted to the Premier League (yet?).

It wasn't just Bravo making mistakes, but the defensive errors may not have happened if the players weren't in two minds about passing the ball to the keeper at every opportunity. There were also poor performances higher up the pitch, so nobody really came away from that game with their pride intact. As usual, stick our early chances away - different game altogether.

I don't know what is going on in the dressing room, but it just looks like we don't have any leaders out there any more, especially since Head and Shoulders went out on loan. Can't wait for Vinny to come back. Either that, or get Andy Morrison to do the team talk.

It show's how dire our goalkeeping situation is , when a majority of us want Willy back as No1, he is very, very average at best.

Absolutely. People will soon be on Willy's back too, once he's reminded us how average he is. Can Gunn really be a much worse option than those two? Why doesn't the guy ever get an outing? Is he shit or is it to keep those other happy?

TBF, although the goalkeeping situation is poor, it's not our biggest issue.

Finishing second is now the priority, with that in mind we should go all out and get Bertrand from Southampton. Not sure about midfielders and centre backs, but left back is an immediate concern for me. Bravo needs coming out of the firing line, but i can't see it happening.

Manchester City have won only 33% of their tackles in the Premier League this season - the worst record in the league. [@Squawka]

Probably because most of our tackles are fouls according to the "neutral" arbiter Does this also take into account procession i.e. its impossible to tackle when you've got the ball?

It all depends on how much Pep is able to bring in the players he wants and needs during the summer. If he can, then yes, we have a very strong chance of winning the league, if not, I would be looking at his third season with us.

Good post.
In regards to Bravo adapting... I'm just not convinced that's the problem. Looking at the stats for the last ten-or-so games where we have conceded, in most cases the opposition score with each and every shot they've had, and pretty sure that the first shot they have is a goal too. Looking at yesterday's goals again, whilst it's true our defence should never have allowed the Everton players to get into a shooting position, they weren't great shots and a decent keeper would have probably saved most - if not all - of them!
In regards to the defence - Vinnie coming back is a massive boost, but he'll need a few games to get back into the swing of things, and sad to say I don't think he'd make it through a few games without injury! Getting Andy Morrison in for some movitational speaking is a decent idea... if he brings his boots i'd give him a game too!!!

Since our red cards we have stood off,see yesterday dave's booked for his first tackle whilst everton got away with several each

We simply lack any leadership on the field, and most importantly off the field.

Every player we have signed in the last 4 years has the same "pleasant , easy going personality" in my opinion we need 2or 3 hard bastards in the team, to take the fight to the opposition.

We're the new Arsenal. They lost the likes of Vieira and Adams and became soft as shit. We are now the same but for Vieira and Adams, replace with De Jong and Kompany (since he doesn't play any more)

I don't have any confidence in Txiki to sort it out.

It will take longer than one summer transfer window to sort that out, even more so if we don't make top 4.

Our deal with Nike ends next summer, we have to be in a good way to get a decent deal next time round.

Never rated DeJong, I think Tevez was our greatest loss, that man was never beaten, always in the thick of the battle ( Mancini agro apart!)

Sorry but Tixixi time is up, his dealings have been simply appalling.

The money spent on our defence is criminal and the scary thing is that all positions in the defence still need replacing.
