We are not going to improve while have half the team that are old and slow and out of contract in the summer,sit tight and be patient,judge him this time next year
 
Pep is accepted as being one of the best coaches in world football. I am pleased he is looking to sign an extension and the club are backing him. He does look under pressure at the moment.

My concern is we do not strengthen this window, and miss out on CL next season. Even Gabriel Jesus is not certain to be with us at the end of the transfer widow!
 
It's the willingness and /or ability to adapt to his vision that's going to take time for him to sort out.
My guess is that Hart was unwilling to adapt. Some others are willing but don't have the ability.

Its all relative where do you think we would be with any other manager I dais last season that if Pelligrini was to stay we would be in serious trouble

Missing out on CL/EL has done wonders for Chelsea and Liverpool.

He changed the keeper and unsettled the team after they looked reasonably solid albeit against a terrible West Ham

The comparison with Conte is valid.

No it' not, hes got a championship winning side from 20 months previously and has just added a CH to it, struggled like fuck to start with and has managed to change it round.

If Pep gets it right it'll be great. If he doesn't, no problem, we get 'Project Barcelona' out of our system and move on.

It's not project Barca but it is trying to get an identity throughout the club so that everyone knows whats expected form them, from the U12's up.

Anyone who thinks the current first team situation is acceptable is wrong.

No one does, but some of us see mitigating circumstances like an old over the hill set of players who couldn't be all moved out in one window.

Anyone who thinks the future is bright just because we've got Pep is wrong.

Again nobody does, but we'll give him a chance and the correct tools to do it.

We won the first six playing some good football without dominating like Liverpool v Watford for example and Chelsea v a number of mid table teams they have wiped the floor with this season.

Since then apart from some spurts its been a downhill spiral and 7-3-5 with some shockers in that lot tells us where the squad is currently as has been the case for over 3 years now.

With the poor window over the summer addressing none of our issues its nailed on we will finish further behind the winners of the premiership this year than last and most likely outside the top four Pep or no Pep.

To date despite his many mistakes he has done about as well as the objective would expect.

5/6th is about where you would expect the club to finish.

I don't think you can blame everything on Bravo though. If anything I think we have seen how small the difference between success and failure is when trying to play Pep-football.

We are underachieving.
My 'definitions' are just opinions; like everything else posted on a forum; they are no more relevant or irrelevant than anyone else's.
At the match I support the team; negativity has no place in the stadium (home or away).
On a forum I'm entitled to give an opinion.
My opinions differ from yours - your problem not mine.
My opinions are based on the evidence we are being presented with; yours seem to be based on nothing more than hope and blind faith.

I'd probably give Conte a little bit more credit but that aside I mostly agree with you.

That does raise some serious questions regarding our recruitment though doesn't it. We brought in a director of football whose main task it seems was to ensure we brought in Guardiola and try and replicate the Barcelona blueprint (not an idea I've ever felt totally comfortable with). It is a little bit odd that we didn't make the upgrades required particularly in defence and CM in time for his arrival. We probably knew 3 years ago that Guardiola was going to be our manager by this season. Chelsea can't say the same about Conte and yet he has a squad more suited to him than our manager does. I'm not a Txiki basher (I don't think ive ever even commented on him before) but when you look at it like that there's been some mismanagement somewhere along the line.
