Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Yep. I dont question the decision to let hart go, but the recruitment of bravo is looking like its not working out at the moment. Apart from the derby, he started well, so hopefully when tue rest of the team play better, his confidence will shoot up. We cannot doubt pep based on one dodgy signing, its ridiculous

Especially when that dodgy signing is actually someone previously proven at the highest level. I'm at a loss to understand why he's looked so average here. I know some people questioned the signing at the time, but that was usually out of loyalty to Joe Hart rather than doubting Bravo's credentials.

That's right. Bravo is a well known really good keeper, so he really should be better for us. Maybe we just have to be more patient.

Not sure I said sack him. I asked for a factual, evidence based view on what improvement I'm missing.

Happy to be corrected but apart from the odd exception there's more bad than good in our game at the moment.

"Aging squad" - can't get away from this phrase today - I'm guessing you heard it on talk shite / sky / 909

Don't watch, listen to or read any of those.

The core of our squad were from Mancini's era, that they are aging can't be (and isn't) disputable.

and decided you'd repeat it ad nauseam ad infinitum; makes sense really, your opinions seem to be of the mainstream unexamined variety.

Not much original thinking here. I'm guessing nobody every accused you of being an intellectual.

Ad homenim to further degrade your nonsensical rantings. How entirely unsurprising.

I'm not negative. Reread my opinions.

You are negative. You have been negative in every single City thread you've posted in, even following victories. That anyone could be negative following our come-from-behind victory against Arsenal or the first time we beat Barcelona, beggars belief. You did. That makes me feel you're negative. Or a rag. Both?

I'm suggesting that Pep is not God and if he can't deliver, he goes. Why does that upset you so much? It's simple common sense.

Nobody disagrees with this.

The difference between you and anyone else is that most accept that he has to be given time to deliver, certainly longer than the half a season you've waited to vomit your negative bile all over this forum.

Seems the club agrees. Sorry.

But the problem is you could say the same thing about the home games against the blue dippers, saints, boro and chavs.
When it's a one off you can claim bad luck, rub of the green etc.
When it becomes a pattern then that is indicative of a more fundamental problem with the team.
And boy do we have one at the moment.

I never said it was bad luck, it's a problem with the finishing up front, and it's undermining the confidence of the rest of the team. When Otamendi, Stones, Clichy, Bravo see the forwards miss a load of chances what do you think is going through their heads? "the home games against the blue dippers, saints, boro and chavs."

Pep is accepted as being one of the best coaches in world football. I am pleased he is looking to sign an extension and the club are backing him. He does look under pressure at the moment.

My concern is we do not strengthen this window, and miss out on CL next season. Even Gabriel Jesus is not certain to be with us at the end of the transfer widow!
I`m not certain he`s under pressure,PS.I see it ,more out of frustration and maybe he`s decided to bite his tongue when talking to the media.I`ve yet to hear him slag off any City player which shows that he keeps things between himself and those players, for private discussions.I bet that yesterday he was really pissed off.

There is a great post in the post match thread illustrating what our problem is at the moment:

Everton v City post match

Hope I got it right with the link to it. We are really, really close to something good, but as you can read there very small mistakes make the difference. Playing Pep-football is really, really difficult.

Sorry, I must have missed that. All I've seen is what he did in Spain and Germany plus a couple of flashes here and there with us.

I haven't seen anything factual about how we are developing in a positive way, just that its not his team, it will come good and give him time. I accept those viewpoints but they're not exactly factual.

Do you not accept we have an ageing squad then despite the fact that five of the ten outfield players yesterday played in that QPR game (and it would have been six if Kompany had been fit)? Eight of the eleven who started that game are still on our books. Also five of the rags' team that played at Sunderland are still playing for them and, funnily enough, they're not doing too well either.

There are only two Spurs players from the squad who played on the same day still at the club (Kane & Walker) and they were both raw youngsters back then.

But don't you find that time after time we sign a player who is allegedly 'good, the best, fantastic, great' and they get to City and suddenly they seem to turn into someone completely different. They 'lose their edge, they have no idea what they are doing, they are rubbish' are just some of the (nicer) things said about them. So what do we do to them??????

Sadly I also find this. No idea why this happens.

We have to get our expectations right. The only sensible thing is to let the man work and build the team he needs. And we are still only 3 points of the 2nd place.
Don`t tell the Beeb that ! Last night on their website they had the nerve to say "and City are now 2 points behind forth placed Club Arsenal".WTF. Yep not a mention of only three points behind the second placed team.

Forget the facts try believing that pep will try to make us the best club side in the world

'Sigh' there's none so blind as those who will not see
