IMO many if not most didn't vote for Trump per se. They voted to give a middle finger to who and what they perceive are the "elite" or the "establishment", defined however they wanted. Convenient targets for their anger about their lot in life, convenient causes of their fear. Life makes a lot more sense when there's an enemy to blame for ill rather than a complicated problem one is required to solve.

Neither the Trump's supporters' anger nor their fear are without merit, but when that's what drives you to vote and you're given one alternative only, and it's Trump, you get . . . Trump. You vote for Trump because it causes the greatest havoc with those you blame for whatever you think is wrong.

I'm pretty sure a salami sandwich would have won the election if it wore a red toupee. It was a yes or no vote, like Brexit.
 
Well, what a surprise, Assange has decided to leave the Ecuadorian embassy. I reckon he'll be on his way to the US after Friday, but not in the back of a military transport aircraft in handcuffs but first class on American Airlines with an invitation to the White House to meet his biggest fan.

Did you watch the programme on him the other night? About his cabinet and who they are and who pulls their strings?

I will give you a hint, it ain't the people, don't tell anybody though.

The Wall, the expulsion of illegals, the banning of Muslims the seamless transition into his Terrificare utopia won't happen.

His pals in the oil and pipeline business though? Fucking quids in.

Reckon the Manning case is a play to catch a much bigger fish. Pardoning or commuting sentences of whistle-blowers is dangerous to the country in question whether what they did was morally right or wrong but from Obama's point of view, doing it for Manning is probably worth significantly harming WikiLeaks where all the prominent leaks have been fed. Who knows what Trump will do with it though.

He never would have been in handcuffs, the US have never sought his deportation and do not plan to arrest him or anything.
 
Not great he has half of Goldman Sachs in his team, those fuckers ruled the country when Bush was in power. He should shut the buggers down not give them back their bleeding influence ffs. Just google 'goldman sachs scandal' it is not even just one. Some link even has their 'top five goldman sachs scandals'. Not to mention the ones they got away with which i would bet is many dodgy deals that shiton many. These guys obviously just don't give a fuck and will do whatever the hell they like. I would be willing to state a hell of a lot of the blue collared voters he got will feel the same, they distrust these huge corporations that are deeply tied in with the white house and see them as part of the problem.

That is a definite frowny face from me.

Lots of folk crying about Trump fail to grasp that America didn't vote for him. They voted against Clinton.

They aren't stupid. They know what they are getting, warts n all. But all of that is still preferable to what they'd have gotten under Clinton, which was more and more liberal elitism.

Yes, Trump will have similar cronies hovering, but the big difference is they'll answer to him rather than the other way round.

I'm not for a second thinking he'll be a great president, but he'll be his own president, which is more than can be said for any single US President since Reagan as they all indebted themselves to corporate America to get the position. Folk forget Obama campaigned to do the complete opposite of everything he did once he got in-he was anti gay rights, anti-war etc. Once he got elected he did exactly what he was told to.
