What was the lesson ?
Never trust, or attempt to do a transfer deal with any Italian serie A club/owner ever again.

A lesson we should have heeded years ago, when similarly kicked in the nuts, 3 times previously, after first being given the come on, by AC Milan & Roma respectively (Re Kaka, Pinocchio & De Rossi).

“ You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go against ADL when money is on the line... hahahahaha...”
Top referencing that. As cunning as Vizzini.
