Why is it 'having the piss taken out of us' ?

He cost us nothing, we did pretty much nothing for him whilst he was here, he has been paid wages by other clubs for most of his City career, we talked him into signing a five year deal by promising him first team football then sent him back out on loan, & now, we could get a small transfer fee for him.

Exactly which part of that, is him 'taking the piss' out of us ? Surely it's the other way around ?
Him and his agent point blank rejecting any offer which makes economical sense for City is taking the piss. £3m or £10m hmm if they want the move that badly they should ask Gala to pay a bit more money!

Exactly. City do not owe him any favours regardless of the fact that we pissed him off. Just like he doesn't owe us any favours. We can easily keep him if the price is not good for us, just like he can refuse any offer that is no good for him.

city the business can not just refuse, we have to what is best for our youth regardless that is the core of our youth business without it we would not attract the best players, city have to be seen as fair , just let him go for a pittance with a huge sell on percentage then we can take the moral high ground

If we can get 5m and a sell on clause I'd say just do it. It's best for both City and Denayer to part ways at this point and move on.

They can flog Boyata for £10m, somehow, and give us £7m for Denayer.

Everybody's happy.

Contract till 2020.

We want get rid and are holding shite cards.
Let him be happy in Instanbul.
Should have been off years ago but got a contract hoping for some profit.
Not the best bit of business but sometimes it simply doesn't work.

At least now we know foreign loans don't add to the home-grown rule.
Think you're wrong about how the home grown bit works.

His birthday is 28/06/95 which means he was already 18 when he joined on 01/07/13. They have to have been here for at least three years before the age of 21 so he missed out by just a few days. The foreign loans still count unless someone more knowledgeable knows better?

From what little I saw in pre-seasons, I thought he'd be exactly what Pep wanted in a CB. Hopefully he does well elsewhere and all parties are happy.
