It doesn't matter where the money comes from. Liverpool money is holy, untainted and complete with papal blessing. Everybody else's, particularly ours, is dirty, oily, and has a carbon footprint the size of Stanley Park, the PIer Head, Albert Dock, Liverpool 1 (EFC 2), The Milky Way and Virgil's fat arse!
Indeed, the original plastic club. Created solely because there was an empty ground. Nothing organic about their development.Liverpool was created out of the massive wealth of one person back in 1892 because Everton FC refused to be held over a barrel to play their games at Anfield and so they left.
Without Everton FC there would be no Liverpool FC.
How many Dippers will remind you of that part of their illustrious ‘istree?
Swiss Ramble at least seems to have put a lot of effort into comparing transfer data of the last 10 years for anyone interested.
Can anyone with twitter ask him about the net spend in the last 5 years?
I suspect he assumed City would come out top and didn't notice it's actually United on his graph... or he's made an error on his graph.
It's clear that the more recent the time frame is for these graphs, the closer everyone else is(a trend which will continue hopefully). Especially United who's spending is far from done.
We know the bulk of our recent transfer spend under Pep was after his first season, older players left, players not up to it moved on... funny how the number of outgoing players is always overlooked. To bring in that many players in one season was never going to be cheap and we've seen other clubs try to do that and fail(Everton, Fullham etc), yet anyone can do it with money they say. Hopefully we can do this more gradually in future and save more money with careful planning.
