It doesn't matter where the money comes from. Liverpool money is holy, untainted and complete with papal blessing. Everybody else's, particularly ours, is dirty, oily, and has a carbon footprint the size of Stanley Park, the PIer Head, Albert Dock, Liverpool 1 (EFC 2), The Milky Way and Virgil's fat arse!
Whilst there is something about net spend that makes it valid to bring up, people often forget that it's still huge amounts of money being spent. A £5m net spend could mean you spent £6m and got back £1m or you spent £500m and got back £495m.

Net spend is a myth stat created by a club with a small time victim complex to help them deal with constantly having to sell their top players.
Net spend is just putative cash flow on transfer market, not taking into account the actual timing of payments or addltional payments due. I agree net spend is a bit of nonsense but it is funny to use it to wind up West Ham or Woolwich fans with.

Our net spend since Poch became manager is the second lowest in the Premier League after Southampton (which is skewed from LFC buying all their players).
So I think Levy's sofa is full to bursting but he is waiting for DFS to have one of their very infrequent sales before buying a new one.
