It’s complete bullshit, how could the linesman see that that was offside ? It was a shirt width which in itself is the most ridiculous rule ever invented. If it’s that close, give the benefit to the attacker. It’s not as if the defender has been skillful in working the offside trap. Stop trying to pull the wool over fans eyes, it was a VAR decision full stop. More lying and cheating from Stockley Park.

Iv not read back through this thread but has anyone ever checked on who the faceless people who sit in a room and decide the VAR outcome?
They could be season ticket holders at Anfield.
My suggestion would be to use foreign VAR decision makers where there is more chance of impartiality.
It doesn’t have to be done in this country.

also Mike Riley should be sacked. He already proved himself to be a bent bastard in his reffing days.

It was only done so they could fill in a form to say they had confirmed an on-field decision when in reality it was the opposite. The club should try and get audio from VAR conversations and combine that with the TV/camera footage to expose the cheating for what it is.

Thought the exact same thing. We've got audio in NFL, Rugby etc but this sport is deemed to not need it? I know why they do.. to hide their bent ways.

This. The goal had been announced on the stadium tannoy before the flag went up.

And if there was an on field decision, why wasn’t it reviewed after it was made?

It’s the first time VAR has reviewed a decision before it was made.

its not corrupt it’s a mixture of idiots running it and poor rules that need adjusting if you are going to bring in VAR.
At the moment It is draining the life out of the game it seems to be finding any reason to disallow goals and the game is all about goals.

If bookies stand to lose a lot of money on “City v Chelsea +3.5 goals” or “Man City to beat Chelsea 3-1” and if PiGMOL are made away of this, we can’t say that it’s not corrupt.

The man at the top of PiGMOL was in charge of that definitely corrupt United v Arsenal game from about fifteen years ago, he’s a dodgy dodgy bastard!
