Stuart Brennan has done this article: https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...s/man-city-liverpool-guardiola-klopp-17736066

It's about how Klopp has copied Pep and thrown away his principles, something that Liverpool fans harp on about. Now, while i fucking detest this way of journalism as its a tit for tat between M.E.N and the Echo, it's not really a lie is it? Brennan says in the article that Klopp said he would leave football if he had to spend to become successful, and then went on and spent a number of record transfer fees. The point is that the scouse media and fanbase have everyone thinking their club is different, they do things 'organically'. They do what every other club does who hasn't got a rich owner, it's nothing special or brilliant. Yes they've had some great buys, the little c* nt at left back, the 3 up front, but it's hardly something completely different to what anyone else has ever done. Zinchenko won the league with us at left back, we bought him for peanuts, Delph the season before. How many seasons did we have with Kolarov being our most expensive full back? But the scouse media are furious with this take, understandably of course, but they all need to stop peddling shit.

One thing I will say about the cult is fair play they've managed to keep millions of foreign fans who couldn't point at Liverpool on a map, despite being shit for 30 years. What have these people been doing for all these years, lying dormant?

Only 8 points off last season at this stage, and on course for 85-90 points. We won the league on 86 and 89 points. Scored 65 to last season’s 66 at this stage. Have got the best Xg and Xa figures in the league, way better than Liverpool’s.

Liverpool have had the perfect storm of a season, where they virtually score with every chance, kept a stable team, and have had decisions and VAR go their way at least 95% of the time. City have had the (im)perfect storm with injuries, profligacy in front of goal, conceding virtually every shot on goal, and shite VAR/referring decisions.

Don’t think we’d be miles behind given a fair wind.

What puts us on course for 85-90 points? We’d have to win pretty much all our games from now on for that to happen and nothing about this season puts us on course to do that.

We’re actually on course for about 77 points right now given we’ve basically got 2 points a game so far. that’s a gigantic drop off from the 98 and 100 of the last two seasons and every excuse under the sun would only equate to less than half the point difference at absolute most.

Liverpool have maintained last seasons form and arguably improved on it. It hurts to admit it and to the face of any scouser I’ll be calling it VAR’s title but they’re deserving winners and we’ve only ourselves to blame for not keeping pace due to a woeful summer window and a big drop off in standards.

There seems to be a campaign to have Jordan what’s his face voted PL Player of the year.

Wonder if he would be voted the dippers Player of the Year?

If he were, and since they are the self proclaimed Best Team in the World and GOAT, wouldn’t that trump the PL minor prize ?

Cheers
