Benjamin Mendy - 2019/20 Performances

I get that some posters are trying to talk Mendy up but the main issue is that we just do not know what to expect from him. Next season he may be amazing as we was for Monaco, inconsistent and error prone or crocked again. I have no idea which Mendy we will see and we cannot really afford to go into a season with that level of uncertainty over such a key position.

It is really frustrating that, after spending so much on defenders we really only have two - Laporte and Walker - that consistently play at a level that is good enough for a team at the level at which we aspire to be.

Mendy seems to be a nice guy but I think the time has come to get in a top notch specialist left back to fill this problem position.

What top class lb would you go for?
 
@Withnail - there do not seem to be many about. I would probably take Chilwell if we could get him for a reasonable fee - not going to be a superstar but steady enough.

I agree that he was very effectively targeted by Mahrez and KDB and looked pretty average because of it. You asked me who I would sign and, to be honest, there are not many obvious, available candidates - I would hope that our scouting team could find a few decent options.
 
Had a much better second half. Still think he needs replacing in the summer but some positive crosses tonight.
