Russian invasion of Ukraine

Is it now two weeks on since the Alaska summit, with European leaders joining Zelensky the next working day for an unprecedented gathering of EU, NATO and the British PM at the White House. After what we thought was a quickly moving situation on peace talks, we now have nothing. When it comes to the next steps from Russia everything grinds to a stop.

They don’t want peace and Trump doesn’t want to apply the pressure to make them stop. It’s depressing stuff.

Great half hour interview with Professor Phillips O’Brien here with some really interesting tactical insight into the theatre, as well as the repeated message that Europe needs to wake up to the reality that Trump is never going to turn on Putin and the need for the continent to act accordingly (and quickly) through the prism of that reality.

I found his viewpoint that Pres Trump is acting as Pres of Europe interesting.
Perhaps this is stopping Europe from acting together with an expectation they can change Pres Trump which he claims is impossible.
Thanks for posting G.

US have approved the sale of 3000+ ERAM missiles to Ukraine. Any one know what ERAM tho? Seems a varied range of missiles.

We are not in the position of strength. Like it or not.
Patience and smart play are what we need now first of all.

How would trump react if European leaders speak out what they think (only to make you feel good for a minute)?

Knowing trump's status behaviour, what would be the risk for UKR concerning weapon and intelligence supply
or tariffs for EU / UK?

What would you expect?
Exactly, unlike France our nuclear deterrent is totally dependent on US servicing. No PM can risk pissing any POTUS off.

Wait - you thought, that was a quickly moving situation on peace talks?
Really?? How on Earth!?...

The missiles loaded on our subs are independent of any US servicing until returned. We hold them for years
Our software developed from the base US software - code disassembled and checked within and inch of its life. No possible US kill switch.
