PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Tbf this dickhead might actually be right.

I’ve said for ages there’s no way the parties don’t know the decision yet.
I think that both parties also know the outcome mate. If we had been found guilty (and both City & the Premier League knew), there is no way on earth that not one person from the PL would have not leaked it to the press! They would be screaming it from the rooftops! And the press would be all over it!

The verdict was reached in in December 2026 (18 months ago). If we had been found guilty the points deduction/fine would have been announced straight away. (remember it was the PL who went public with the charges, months after they issued them) City have remained silent throughout it all!

The whole narrative is about what punishment we will get. Nothing is ever discussed about what happens if City are found innocent? The PL will be liable for all our legal fees plus any loss of earnings since we were charged. City paid the head Barrister between £5k-£10k per hour (£80k per day). You don't pay that if you don't think you can win!

meh.

is it this or next monday?
friday on my mind blah blah blah.
you think that is confusing?

let me tell you,
never mind the day or even the month,
where i live it is in fact the year 1447 by the hijri/islamic calendar.
or, even more ridiculously, the year 2976 by the amazigh/berber calendar.
gregory barely gets a look in, let alone julian.

and you lot are worrying about which monday it is.
you don't know you're born yet.
What are u on??

I think People don't realise that there is a political element to consider. The UK defence industry exported over £13bn of orders in 2024, 60% is bought by the UAE.

The UK Government will be the reason why the verdict hasn't been released yet. No way they will want to upset our owners!

IMO if we were guilty, there is no reason for it not to be announced along with the points deduction/fine. I honestly believe that the delay is down to what legal fees City want of the Premier League.

The Chair of City (Khaldoon) holds senior positions within the Government of Abu Dhabi, including as a member of the Executive Council since 2006, a member of the Supreme Council for Financial and Economic Affairs, and as the founding chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority. He fulfills responsibilities for the UAE Federal government and has served as Presidential Special Envoy to the People's Republic of China since 2018.
He is also chief executive officer and managing director of Mubadala Investment Company. He is chairman of the football clubs Manchester City, Melbourne City and Mumbai City. Al Mubarak is on the board of the UAE business ADNOC and serves as the Chairman of the Boards of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Emirates Global Aluminium.

The Chair of the Premier League (Richard Masters), got the top job at the Premier League after being head of marketing. He refused to be at our last few trophy presentations!

We (City) have had our name dragged through the mud since the start of this and kept a dignified silence. We will do the same whatever the outcome. I just hope that we take the PL for every penny if we get cleared, then invest it all in grass root football. I love how much Pep hurt them all while being a nice guy!!

I’ve read that of the 115 charges we’ve been found guilty of 167 of them and our sanctions are as follows:

a) 100 point deduction every year for 10 years

b) £2.3 billion fine

c) stature of Vinny to be replaced by statue of Bruno Fernandes

d) city players to form guard of honour every time they play united

e) Tunnel Club to be renamed “You cheating bastards” club.

Make of that what you will.

Can we also get a 5 year ban from Wembley? I've just had a letter of Brent Council saying that I need to start paying Council Tax, because I'm there that often!

Eh? That doesn't make any sense, we are innocent but the delay is down to legal fees, but the government dont want to upset the owners, how are they gonna be upset if we are innocent?

The truth is this

No fucker on here knows and they are just participating in sheer guesswork usually based on bias or wishful thinking. The length of time is a joke. In the meantime most non city folks believe we are guilty and even if we are found innocent will still believe we are guilty.
They will also continue to bash us based on bias or wishful thinking.
We will never get the full credit we deserve from our achievements over the last 14 years. At this point thats the only truth I can state on this whole mess.

2569 here according to the Buddhist calendar. Could be worse, though, @Ysabel 123 seems to think it's 2028 already ......

This is the only thing we KNOW. The judgment hasn't been published yet. Why? One of these.

1 It's the most complicated case ever presented before a tribunal or a court with the most serious consequences ever and so has taken the longest time. Favoured by one of our ITKs. Probability around 40% but reducing with every passing day, imho.

2 The club has raised some serious issues in its defence that i) led to a crushing defeat for the PL, favoured by one of our other ITKs, and ii) has caused the PL some organisational issues, favoured by me, a KFA. Probability 50% but increasing with every passing day, imho - so sue me.

3 The PL has proven the serious issues to the satisfaction of the panel and the delay is to consider sanctions, effectively combining the liability and sanction phases, favoured by nobody or, as Douglas Adams put it, "at least, no-one worth speaking of". Probability around 5% just because you never KNOW.

My guess: judgment published after the June Shareholders' Meeting when next season's members are codified and PSR is finally kicked out.

3 is far more likely than 2. Which is very unlikely. 1 is the likeliest.

Or likely that 1 is combined with the total incompetence of the PL in not securing the panel members schedule to meet/deliberate/ write up in a timely fashion instead of "yeah just whenever you can get the odd 1/2 day here and there we will fucking wait because the process is the main punishment and we don't give a shit about the bill because the clubs pay it anyway"
