James Milner

Never really understood all the hate he got after he left. He did what he what he was asked to do here, worked hard at it and played his part in our success during those years. But, at the end of the day, he is a professional footballer paid to kick a ball about, he wasn't paid to be a City fan for life.

Whatever you think of him, he worked hard at all the clubs he was at, and to have lasted as long as he did at the top level (well, the Premier League anyway) is unusual and deserves recognition.
Wasn’t the fact he left, he was applauded off the pitch when he first came back with liverpool. Unfortunately, he made a couple of shitty comments about City just after and behaved all a bit strange towards us. Like he’s bitter about City despite him leaving for a signing on fee.

What did he say?

He was extremely bitter about City, even though he walked on a free no doubt with a huge signing on fee. He got tapped up the year before, remember him not really joining in the 2014 slippy title celebration, also laughed and smirked when we got beat at the rags just before he left. Then wouldn’t play a single minute in Vinny’s testimonial even though he did turn up at the Etihad, nasty little ****.

Whinging about it being unfair how he was treated, said he joined Liverpool to win trophies, despite winning multiple with us already, said that Liverpool were the best side he’d played in (this before Klopp got them playing as well as they did post 2018), when he’d won the league twice with City.

Just a few weird comments. Then that lasso celebration that was strange.

Hats off to him.

24 seasons in the PL is remarkable and unlikely to be beaten.

Every team needs a Milner, a 7/10 performance every game, will play any position without question, hardly ever injured, mentally strong, no controversies. Even when he was slightly off you know he will be putting in a proper shift.

He must be a managers dream.

Woolyback twat (don't care if it doesn't fit)

Thanks, kind of confirms my view of him ie bit of a ****.
Im not one to make any sort of fuss whatsoever if i meet anyone famous in any way. I tend to not let on at all.

But doing work at someones house, whoever they are, id expect when they walk right past me to say good morning. Or even reply when i wish them a good morning.
Not be totally blanked

Was told something else about him as regards to paying someone doing work for him that hes also tight as cramp

Anyway, he had a decent, long career. So fair play

Must admit, I don't remember him whinging too much, though I don't think he got as much game time as he deserved under Pellegrini.

I can't blame a player for bigging up a club he's at and I don't recall him being critical of City.

He was a Leeds fan but I don't remember him ever being less than fully committed when he played for us.
He'll never go down as one of the great fan favourites but I respect the job he did here.

Didn’t he start 27 premier league games in his last City season?

That's a massive chip he's been wearing on his shoulder for a long time. I wouldn't urinate on him if he were on fire.
