For the purposes of FFP, the works around the stadium and overall expansion plans have been tailored to our accounting periods and planned well in advance, to secure the required offsets.

City don't want or need one quick offset, they want significant tranches coming off the bottom line for the next five years at least.

Just because the owner has cash on hand, it serves the club no purpose to spend it in haste.

A LARGE portion of the CFA will be coming off the next set of figures. The North Stand, the following year...then...South...then leisure/casino plot...then housing...

If the break-even/FFP case is resolved in our favour over the next 12 months, works on the South Stand will start straight away, we already have the permission and permits.
You get confused over your left and right too Tolmie? ;)

I was going to say, but I didn't want to. That aside, that's an interesting post. Just shows how FFP can be manipulated.

Haha - touche!

From the last person to post on the new season ticket waiting list, it was close to 10,000. That doesn't include regular season ticket holders, as they won't have paid the £100 deposit yet to secure a new season ticket in the South Stand 3rd tier. Think they get the first choice to move if they so wish.

Ah cheers mate, thats great news and yes all seems positive stuff from that sort of waiting list and the likelihood of the North Stand also being increased in the not too distant future.

Dunno if this helps......I had to get rid of mine and my lads seasoncards a couple of seasons ago,due to me working away.I've re applied for them a couple of weeks ago and was 9175 + 9176 on the waiting list...Had to pay £100 deposit for each.

Have you still been going on a regular or semi regular basis?

Not sure how its possible to tell whether the 9/10,000 are extra fans or whether we're just selling more season tickets to the existing fans.

If its the latter it will still increase gates. If someone who is currently going to 7 or 8 matches a season becomes a season ticket holder, they will go to more games. But it will not translate into an overall increase of 9/10,000.

I get to most games now,get my away tickets mainly off here..personally,I think a good wedge of the "10k" will of been people like myself....existing fans.

I'm guessing, but I don't think the club and the 2015 Rugby World Cup organizers want construction work on-going before and during the Rugby World Cup match at the Etihad. Not to mention moving the cranes, and taking City Square apart, etc. I also don't think the club was 100% sure about new season ticket sales. Obviously with nearly 10,000 on the waiting list, that's no longer a concern. So I expect we won't have to wait too long before the North Stand is expanded as well.

The Rugby World cup is something I did not consider but fair point. Concerning moving the cranes and relocating or taking down the City square, I see it as part of the process of extension of both stands. And that is how I think it should be done- a single project of extension because if the North stand is going to be done anyway why not now. If there are occasions that may delay it for a while like the world cup then that is fine but the extension should be started as soon as possible, get this phase and stadium project over and done with.

Ill be waiting for your next pics as always. Keep up the good work.

How does that work? If the offsets are in relation to additional money that we are spending then how are we better off? Is it to do with timing differences on how the money is taken into account?

I had assumed that if we invested say £100m in ground improvements that capital expenditure would be depreciated in the accounts at something like £2m-£3m pa and that depreciation charge would be excluded from FFP calculations. Essentially leaving us no better or worse off. But you seem to be suggesting that more than the depreciation charge will be offset for FFP purposes. Is that right?

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

The North stand is happening as the club want to keep the stadium looking uniformed, however at present there isnt enough power to the stadium, hence why i think i heard a mini power station mentioned the other day

Perhaps they could call it Bradford power station?

Surely with Abu Dhabi on board we could sort the problem out with a few Oil Gennies?

On the train home today, it looked like the final roof arm (for lack of the technical term) was in place (or at least the start of it)!
