So what? Sure someone else might have got away with it on another day, but Balo was brainless and got what he deserved - and the club have paid for it.
Milner is an option, and tbh I'd be seriously tempted to put him in on Sunday. Won't happen though - RM seems to think that YYT is undroppable for the big games.
Agreed. Dzeko and Balo are obviously very different characters, and no matter how talented Balo is (and I'm yet to see that, despite the hype), Dzeko is more committed and more likely to deliver for us in the long term. Get him in the team.
I thought Kolarov was ok, but Yaya was at best average (again). I'm sure he will turn out to be a decent player for us, but I'm struggling to remember the last time YYT had a decent game.
I also think cleavers is spot on. I thougt we bought Dzeko to give us more presence up front and to counter the fact that Tevez pulls out of the middle all of the time. Trouble is we haven't changed the way we play, meaning we create next to no chances, Dzeko struggles and ultimately gets...
So Milner, who was great for Villa and has done well for England, has suddenly become shit? Nothing to do with being played out of position in a team in transition? Unbelievable.
It's as much about how we play as who plays, and that team tonight are capable of playing much more expansively - the fact that we didn't is down to the coaches/RM.
And don't agree about the attacking players - Milner is a threat (look at his record at Villa) and Yaya (who was shite tonight)...
Have to agree - happy with a point the way the game went. We were negative which is disappointing, but a draw keeps the media off RM's back which has to be a good thing for us.
Balotelli will make a difference to us, but with the players in that team tonight RM needs to get us on the front...
I didn't think Boateng was out of contract (hence the talk of £11M fee), so he can't be the pre contract one, so it must be Cole.
Two other deals also agreed in principle, and Millner and one other being pursued, IIRC (according to TH).
Re: city make milner bid (SSN)
If we sign him, it won't be to play the Hamsik role.
He is mobile, young, english and committed - will be happy if this deal goes through.
I wouldn't rule it out, but I suspect Wenger would rather have the cash to shore up his midfield, given that Fab pretty much carries them. Same for Barca - presumably cash is king, given the amount they are going to be shelling out this summer.
