Hughes - for all those slagging him off

He may indeed prove not to be the man but he needs a bit more time. At minimum till the end of this season. The other thing we need to bear in mind is that the real top players still don't want to sign for us and wouldn't if we had Mourinho there. Untilwe get Champions League we are having to...

Carlos Tevez - the new Paul Dickov

Of course he is a better player but similar in many ways. No goal threat but busy. Not singling him out as the back four is also a big problem but when you pay what we did for a creative attacking player you expect a lot more.

Hughes - for all those slagging him off

Remember that he is battling to revive a club that has been so steeped in mediocrity for so many years it is frightening. This would be a huge challenge for anyone irrespective of who they are. We have accepted second best for 30 years and it will take time to change that. The club, and a...

Carlos Tevez - the new Paul Dickov

Confirmed again yesterday. Loads of energy spent chasing down the keeper which might work once a season (like at the derby) but when the ball comes to him to do what he is paid for (score) he scuffs his shot or blasts it over the bar. The bloke can't kick the ball had enough and unbalances the...

    That's the one. Cheers pal.

    Screensaver

Does anyone know where there are any decent City screensavers to download? I have seen an official looking one which lists the fixtures and latest news on it but can't find it anywhere on the new site. Can anyone help out? Thanks in advance.

    Michael O'Leary: City fan?

Yes he is a City fan. Read an interview with him in the paper a while back where he confirmed it. He said he likes an underdog!

Carlos Tevez. It's bite the bullet time.

One of our big problems in midfield is that we haven't really got any players who can both attack and defend as someone like Frank Lampard can. Barry for all his qualities is not that good going forward. Pretty much all the rest fall very firmly into attacking midfielder or defensive...

Carlos Tevez. It's bite the bullet time.

Absolutely bang on Dave - my thoughts exactly. Add on to this the number of times our final ball is poor is unbelievable. We got into some decent positions yesterday only to deliver poor crosses or bang it into the first man. Set piece delivery also garbage.

    Lescott [Merged]

I think everyone agrees that Onuoha is a great prospect but he is just that at the moment. He is a decent defender but with the ball at his feet he looks nervous still. I think he needs to carry on his upward progression but, this season, would anyone truly say he is better than Lescott...

    Lescott [Merged]

Moyes is a decent judge of a player. There is no way in a million years that he would accept Tal Ben Haim in any deal!

    Lescott [Merged]

Time for everyone to accept, like it or not, that Lescott isn't coming. This isn't just posturing from Moyes, it's got to the extent where he has backed himself into a corner and can't back down now. I have to say that I think things could have been sorted if Hughes had just spoken to Moyes...

    Lescott [Merged]

Agree with all that. Some of the better ones seem to be getting a bit of flak though as well when on the whole they seem pretty decent! And you can't deny there are a few City on here who are starting to lord it a bit - pride before a fall and all that.

    Lescott [Merged]

Well said that man. Everton are a good club - always have been. They have been a damn sight more succesful over the past 30 years than we have and a few on here would do well to remember that. As you rightly say we have just struck lucky. Only time will tell whether it will end up bringing us...

    Alonso accordin to the mail

Get real everyone. There is not a chance in heaven that he'd join us. If Real Madrid are in for a player (particularly a Spanish one) you step aside and let them get on with it. I pray we don't make a bid as we will make ourselves look like idiots.

    John Terry [Merged]

I believe he isn't stupid enough to set himself up for a massive fall soon after joining by saying he expects Terry to stay without having it on very good authority that this will be the case!

    Ched departure for the blades

Yes good luck to Ched. He will never make it as a Premiership player - guaranteed. Too slow, not good enough in the air and a nervous finisher. He will do a solid job in the Championship but that's his level. Will join the ranks of Ade Mike, BWP etc etc of players you really wanted to...

    Elano Staying?

I would ship Elano out ASAP. He is a player with an over inflated sense of his own worth (check out the goal celebrations when he points to his name). I think he causes a lot of problems behind the scene, particularly with Robinho. At the end of the day, you can't carry two players in the...

    John Terry [Merged]

I think we are all getting a bit carried away. Do you really think Ancelotti would come out and say he is confident he will stay without having spoken to him first? Terry is just biding his time until he comes out with the "Look how much I love Chelsea, I turned down a massive offer" speech...

    John Terry [Merged]

Don't care whether anyone believes this or not. Mate has spoken to a lad who works at Chelsea. Terry was seriously considering joining us earlier in the week but has decided to stay and will get an improved contract as a result. Time to move on. Plenty more fish in the sea. Abuse all you...
