    I'm not really here

Read it. Loved it. Very emotional read (esp. post-injury) but lots of funny moments too. The John Gidman story's a cracker, as is Eddie Large's half-time team talk

Can't wait to read this. Lakey put the cover on his Twitter feed last week. Can't be many front covers that dont have pic of the main subject on it.

    Singers who can't sing

Can't believe no-one's mentioned Bernard Sumner yet. That said, New Order probably wouldn't sound right without his bum notes. Simon le Bon's vocals always sounded very strained to me. And Whitney Houston doesn't sing, she just shouts.

    Grandma's House

Quite like its awkward Curb Your Enthusiasm vibe but Amstell's dodgy acting distracts me too much. Shame - there's some good lines in it.

If you could have anyone's voice....

John Hannah, Dougray Scott or Ewan McGregor. Just fancy having a Scottish accent, that's all.

    Football Books

Enjoyed Tony Cascarino's book but couldn't abide Steve Claridge's. If the guy was made of chocolate and all that...the way he eulogises about himself he should have been PFA Player of the Year and England manager rolled into one. Top of my favourite football books is My Father and Other...

    our away atmosphere today

Oh, but according to some you may have special educational needs because - may God strike you down - your spelling isn't quite up to standard! Didn't you know that you need a dictionary and need to be a Scrabble Grandmaster before you can show your face on this most literary of forums?

    new commentators competition

My heart sank and hackles rose when I heard that, too. Maybe we should start a Commentator's Bingo; ten-or-so hackneyed, cliched phrases that we can print out and tick off. e.g: "All that glitters is not gold..." "Money can't buy you xxxx..." ...any more suggestions out there? And what could...
