Which striker was worst value for money?

I thought Boyer was a midfielder?? Whildt Jo must be top vote at 19m, how about the likes of Mark Robins, Carl Shutt and Peter Beardsley (the list is endless). Not necessarily big transfers (some are loans) but big wage earners.

    7th tomorrow

Its not pessimism, its realism. Whilst we should beat Blackburn and we could be 7th knowing City we'll get turned over and end up 10th, its what comes with supporting City. I'll still go thinking we'll win comfortably but my mind is open, after 20 years it has to be.

    Boring Question.....

Probably already discussed 18.000 times on this forum but please humour me. If we dont get into the Europa Cup (which seems likely) and we dont replace Hughes with a high profile manager (Mourinho for eg.) - which I dont necessarily think we should do - exactly what sort of player should we be...

    is vicky ajay?

Hardly an astute prediction but Ajay is definately worth the entertainment value.

    Hughes is to blame

kinky96 - in my opinion the point you made was completely right, Im just pedantic.

    Hughes is to blame

Its opinion versus fact here, nonsensical can only relate to fact. Excuse my geekish undertones but the point we're all skating around is that Hughes is probably not the worst manager in 50 years (Ball (RIP), Clark, Coppell, Frizzell...). We HAVE to stick with him, otherwise we put back our...

    Niall Quinn

The guy is both a legend and an absoulte gent - Ive met him a couple of times (served him in a pub in Wilmslow in 1990!) and both times hes been fantastic. Sadly this sort of attitude towrards 'joe public' isn't still so prevalent these days.

    elano

I absolutely agree with this and recently hes been working really hard but sometimes this season his (undoubted) quality has gone missing. At the end of the day he's a creative player rather than a workhorse and I dont think we've seen the same creativity (when he's had the chance) as last season.

Hands up who thinks we can finish 7th

Not that I'm pessimistic but if we finish 7th I'll give anyone on this board £5.

    Pitch Invasion

How about its the UEFA cup semi and we go 1-0 up, courtesy of Bellamy, and then we let in 5, invade the pitch, police horses then confront us, crap all over the pitch, everyone retreats and the game continues, seeing Wayne Bridge run the entire length of the pitch before scoring leaving the game...

    here we go its SVEN

Cant believe people think Sven was a poor manager (the anger is quite funny though). He did pretty well with England (robbieB nice stats) and he did ok with City, albeit with a bit of money. His problem for me is the motivational side, the second half of last season was a joke and you could see...

    Leslie Mark Hughes

Disturbance - corrrect, I like it, anyone fancy a pint?

jay - why is 'now' irrelevant, because if we were currently top of the premiership then this thread wouldnt exist.

    Leslie Mark Hughes

He's had one season with inherited players and 1 month of transfer window nonsense to get his team together. Whilst I accept a really good manager should be able to work with whats hes's got I think the immediate expectations are too high.To use a (Gail) cliche its a project and this is the...

    Leslie Mark Hughes

'What about Zab's move to DM? ' - absolutley correct Kinkys blue socks. This is an example of a very good decision completely overlooked by the persecuters. Why is there this huge reluctance to give him a chance? It cant be the Utd history because I dont know a blue who cares. In fact, I have a...

    He's coming!

We dont need Mourinho now, we need to give Hughes at least one more full season. One one hand Hughes deserves a chance with his own players 'bedded in' and on the other hand we cant keep changing managers every season, which means a fresh start each time.

    MOTD2

Probably already been covered on the forum but Craig Burley is an absolute disgrace. Apart from being an ST holder at city I watch a lot of football and I have NEVER heard anyone quite like him, and that includes Alan Brazil's poor sortie into Sky commentary in the late 90s. He was so anti City...

    Kompany

Dont agree at all. Zabaleta (again) has proved what a versatile player he is by playing DM but, for me, he did no better or worse than Kompany and De Jong. Kompany is a good player and fantasic prospect but isnt yet at the level that we should miss him when he doent play (like Vieira/Keane etc.).

richards and dunne, onouha and dunne

For me, defenders are only as good as the players around them. Ned, in the past, has probably been exposed by Hart's inexperience (dont get me wrong, quality keeper, but probably not a great talker) and Dunne's massive dip in form. Dunne, for me, now looks in good shape, Bridge (generally) is a...
