    Today's shooting in America thread

Are you telling me that nobody outside or the military or police in the UK, France, Germany, Australia, Canada etc do not have firearms? Of course they do, but the difference between these countries and the US is they are well regulated and controlled. I've never implied that any of these...

It works everywhere else in the world.

Such a naïve statement. A lot are NOT stolen from legal owners.............they are smuggled across the border from the US. Of course there will always be thefts from legal owners and stores, but nothing anywhere near like you are stating.

We do have them and I do have access, it just requires the correct licensing and tags.......I just choose not to.

As I've said before, (if you'd care to read and understand), we have a large gun ownership with strong gun control, yet we don't go around killing school children. The vast majority of gun related deaths in this country are from gang violence and no amount of laws and regulations will change...

Yes, perhaps...............but I prefer it like that. The shootings we do get are almost always gang/drug related and to be honest, they can go at each other as much as they want as long as innocents are not killed.

Well, I enjoy my guns and I find my Beretta O/U a thing of beauty. I also enjoy my garden and growing things, especially my vegetables, I find it very rewarding and satisfying. However, I don't enjoy my efforts being destroyed by squirrels, so my shotgun deals with any that happen to stray...

Geez no!!!! The cops would be all over you like flies on shit and your licence rescinded with no chance of getting it back!!!

I believe a number of States have various types of Open Carry policies.

While I can see where you are coming from, I believe the effort should be in restricting and controlling and not in banning completely. As I mentioned, it works fine elsewhere when it is implemented properly and with authority. I don't personally know of anybody who resents the licensing (just...

    Today's shooting in America thread

They exist to use on animate and inanimate objects. You over emotionally imply that they are only manufactured and available for use against people, which simply isn't true, unless for military purposes. Guns are not the problem, the control and regulation of them in the US is. That along with...

The sad thing is Hiltz, that you'll be able to come back in another 5 1/2 years and very little will have changed 'across the pond'.........in fact, I believe it will be far worse as the country deteriorates. It is depressing and hard to understand how young kids, their kids, not kids from some...

    Today's shooting in America thread

Why? And why shouldn't I own a gun for my own use? We, along with many, many other countries in the world have strict gun control. We have an effective licencing procedure and AR-15's are prohibited. We are not allowed to wander around in the community with firearms and don't live in fear of...

I disagree totally with your 'entitlement to ownership' comment, but not based on anything to do with 2A. However, am 100% behind your views regarding AR-15's.

    Today's shooting in America thread

The issue is with gun control and regulation, not gun ownership. Unfortunately, I fear you are too far down the road to implement anything effective that would end these senseless events.

    Today's shooting in America thread

We don't shoot school kids, yet we have gun ownership. It's not the ownership that is the issue, regulation and control is. There basically isn't any in the US, it's a free for all with no accountability. It's hard for me to understand why so little effort is put into it, when I myself find...

I'll put the question back to you if you don't mind. Why should they?

    Today's shooting in America thread

It doesn't matter what a persons stance is with guns............in the US, guns are not going to be banned and neither should they. Now, if you want to talk about control and regulation, that's where the energy should be directed.
