Not as far as I can ascertain. The process of collective bargaining to set wage levels appears to rule that out. The key phrase in all workplaces is work life balance, which on the face of it seems to work.

They don't have a minimum wage (the stick person cartoon is a bit exaggerated) but do have collective bargaining which generally gives workers a good deal and they are amongst the best paid in the EU. Sadly, it will never happen here.

    Borussia Dortmund (H) Post-Match Thread

Jack spent years making it up as he went along, even Villa fans would recognise that. Given he’s not the brightest pebble on the beach, to perform a specific role is going to take a fair amount of time to sink in. I thought he was getting there, Real Madrid game his best imo. Focus this season...

Once worked on Teeside, that was like stepping back to the 1980’s, closest I’ll ever get to time travel. Don’t suppose it’s changed much.

This looks like a good solution . It’s logical though, low chance of it ever being put into action then https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/sep/05/free-basic-energy-plan-price-cap-help-poorest-households-report?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

I really wish I could but, having had several run ins with her, I lived in her constituency for a while, I’m struggling to come up with anything other than we’re shafted!

    Gas & Electricity

Yes, have had them for a couple of years with 14kwh batteries (two fairly small boxes). The control I have is able to be set to force a battery charge from the grid, I’ve got cheap electricity for 4 hours every night, in winter when not a lot of solar power I set the charge for those hours. We...

Starmer finally played his hand by saying under Labour there would be no price rise and called for an emergency budget. Unless there’s a snap election the first can’t happen and the chances of the Tories doing anything remotely like helping the general public are zero. We’re knackered.

Personally think these 2 paragraphs by journalist George Monbiot in an article about Freeports could fit the whole mantra of the Tories over the ages and possibly an even better fit for the current shower. Democracy is the problem that capital is always striving to solve. To maintain its rates...

    Keir Starmer

There’s a move by some supporters on Twitter to get rid of Starmer. Not sure how that can be made to happen but I’ll carry on with the theory. Only one name put forward to date, Andy Burnham. A person from Manchester instantly responded with no! We didn’t want him, he’s not the person you think...
