    Nasri Transfer Listed

I'd have liked to have kept him but he probably wanted guarantees we couldn't provide. Navas is a guy who will surely be more willing to accept a bit part and I'd bet his salary is half that of Samir's more or less. The only other realistic option to go was Yaya and it doesn't sound like he has...

    Foreign player limit and keepers

Delph is obviously not going anywhere yet -- his energy is a good fit. Clichy might leave next year but that is when we'll start to see more and more club/association trained players as well who are in and around the squad. If Angelino is second choice next year, we can sign a foreign LB to...

Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

I have to assume this is parody or a wind up. Joe knew how he'd have to play under Pep -- Pep has had his squads play the same way for 8 years now. The reality is that Joe just doesn't have the capability to play that way and that's not his fault by any means. He was always going to be #2 at...

Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

When Pep was announced, it was essentially nailed on Joe would be out of a job. He couldn't be farther from a Pep keeper if he tried -- not good with the ball at his feet and rarely if ever leaves his area to sweep. The reality is that his agent failed him given that City were linked with...

Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

His salary right now is around $8.5m annually. If NYC took him on loan, they'd need to pay the full amount because MLS requires teams to do this to avoid getting around the salary cap that is in place. NYC could do this if they had a Designated Player spot open, but they don't at the moment...

Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

Hart is in that top 10-20 range. Nowhere near Manu Neuer or Gigi Buffon. It gets a little murky after that depending on who you ask, but I think DDG is comfortably third best. Courtois and Cech probably round out the top 5. Then you've just got a bunch of guys who are all very close to one...

Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

Yeah, it's kind of amazing how "little" top footballers make in general when you compare them to American sports contracts which continue to increase significantly. If you're interested, you can view the full team salaries for MLS here...

Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

The structure of the league won't allow this. MLS teams have to pay the entire salary of a player on loan. With NYC having 3 designated players, there's no scenario they could take him anyway. MLS allows you to lower the salary cap hit of one player to bring them below the Designated Player...

    Zinchenko Signed (official)

I have a feeling he was unable to get a work permit in England which necessitated this. With these new rules, there are a variety of things which can push you over the edge so to speak but the fact his transfer fee is so low probably hurt him in this case. If he stays a regular for PSV, he...

    Aleksandar Kolarov - 2016/17 performances

How about that long ball to Navas? Nice to see that sort of distribution from a player who is in the CB position.

    Kelechi Iheanacho - 2016/17 Performances

I've seen a lot of ACL or MCL tears since they're quite common in American football. I don't think that was one based on the actual way he went down and the lead up to it. I think he was probably in a bit of shock about the pain -- absolute respect to the Steaua player because it did look like...

where to watch city in downtown vancouver?

Not sure of the rules of entry, but a quick google for MCFC Vancouver brought up their Facebook page and they have an event link: https://m.facebook.com/Manchester-City-Supporters-Of-Vancouver-1603508733252232/ Looks like they meet at Cinema Public House. Good luck! Heard it's a wonderful city.

    Sports Bar in Boston

As a general rule of thumb, Twitter is a pretty good place to find supporter's clubs here in the US. Looks like MCFC Boston does indeed meet at the Banshee! https://twitter.com/mcfcboston They have a link to their Facebook on there as well.

City Football Group (CFG) buy into Chinese club Sichuan Jiuniu FC (from Chengdu)

My understanding about Deportivo Maldonado is that they're essentially a tax haven. Uruguay have some very beneficial tax laws for football clubs so that could explain why City would also start a club there as opposed to some other countries in SA.

Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

Joe is a professional athlete. A "redundancy notice" to him is very different scenario than someone living in the real world. Athletes are regularly sent packing -- it is a part of the job. Hell, in many sports in the US, the players don't even have a say in the matter. They may get sent to...

Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

Joe's making £5.5m a year and will still make somewhere around that at Everton without missing a beat or a paycheck. I can imagine that the guy you're replying to isn't in quite as good a situation.

    New away kit revealed

I think the socks, especially when mixed with yellow boots like Stones wore, are what make the away kit. They look fantastic.

    Nolito - 2016/17 performances

My only two complaints are that he's under hit quite a few passes. Needs to put a little more oomph behind them. He's dallied on the ball a bit where you want him to do something quicker. Seems like that's just his style though as it's helped him with that little flick at the edge of the box.
