    Assisted dying

What frightens me is the Canadian model of this, introduced in 2016. Apparently they are now allowing/thinking of introducing (not sure which) allowing mentally ill people to apply for assisted dying. An expansion of sorts. That really worries me :-(

    The Labour Government

The old Labour Exchanges disappeared in the 1990s. How old are you? Lol

    The Labour Government

It's undoubtedly a very emotive subject. And for those who are genuine (like Kaz seems to be) it's hard to see that there might be those who aren't. But they definitely exist.

    The Pelicot trial

I can't even begin to understand how any of them recover. I wish them all the best.

    The Pelicot trial

The one in France, with the man accused of allowing dozens of men to rape his drugged wife It is absolutely beyond belief, and now his daughter is alledging things too. It's just horrible.

Dealt professionally with a few over the years. Two in particular were very nice and polite (sisters). Almost (I imagine) Amish like in their approach to their wider community. One had a congenital issue with her arm/hand. Probably from the interbreeding that went on. It reminded me of when I...

    The Labour Government

It has always been there. Rightly or wrongly. Nothing to do with social media, some news channels or whatever. My Grandfather, in about 1960, disliked the guy next door (this was in the old terraced streets of Salford) who never did a days work because of a bad back but still managed to beat...

    The Labour Government

I imagine it will be similar to New Deal, something Labour introduced under Blair. As in...here are the options, but long term unemployment is not one of them

    The Labour Government

There haven't been any firm details as yet, so I will reserve judgement until then. I'm all for having proper conversations with youngsters re their path into work (helps to understand their barriers, some of which are hidden, and what motivates them). "Sustainable" employment is the key rather...

    The Labour Government

They already do, sanctions have been around for years. Think this is more to do with the Youth Guarantee that's being introduced, and focus on options re employment, training or whatever.

    2024 - a tough year or a good one?

This is where social media is good-- keeping in touch with people who are part of a like minded community (City fans in this case, obviously) and knowing that people do care. Hope things do get better for you.

    2024 - a tough year or a good one?

Just to add--- my lad set off from Prague 30/10 and we haven't won a match since. If this carries in I'll be sending him back, the sodding jinx :-(
