    Jasmin Paris

I couldn't even listen to the full length of "Africa" by Toto.

Season Tickets - 2024/25 | Average increases of 5% despite record profits

Just renewed my Value Gold (lucky dip seat) for £330, same as last year. If I'd wanted to keep the same seat (East Stand Level 3, 305) it'd have been £860. Can't complain.

    Echo and the Bunnymen

Spot on. Never beat the high of that live EP when they possibly matched McCulloch's swagger.

    Thank You, Ilkay Gundogan

Anyone should be sad to leave Manchester, it's the greatest city in the world.

    FA Cup Games | Quarter-Finals | 16/17 Mar '24

My 88 year old Dad watching it with me asking "what are they doing, why's it stopped" . Killing the game, Dad.

    Sheffield Wednesday

Live in Hillsborough, went last night, only second game I've seen there since that Aguero winner just before COVID. Best I can say is Wednesday work well as a team, barely allowed Plymouth a shot but it all seems desperately poor stuff after watching City. Crowd getting behind them now, too...

    The Crooked House

Yes, a scandal to rival the demolition of Tommy Ducks by cover of night 31 years ago.

    The Crooked House

Spot on. It wasn't great (much better beer in the Gornals) and like much of the Dudley area hard to get to for the visitor. The Carlton Tavern in Kilburn is the other pub that had to be rebuilt after demolition. It didn't seem busy when I went last year...

    The Crooked House

If all the CAMRA members who raged about the closure visit when (if) it re-opens and drink 4 pints of Banks's it might survive. But they won't. Very hard getting anyone out to visit it (see also : Barton Arms in Aston).

Luton Town (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Enjoyed every minute of that. Great performance; Blues support fantastic. No added time at all ? Since when do refs get to show mercy !

Mi6 Fooled by Crass in 1982 Documents Reveal

"Stations of the Crass" absolutely terrifying to this 15 year old in 1980, never played on Peel or anywhere, proper punk. They also famously conned teen magazine Loving to giving teenage girls a flexidisc of their feminist track off "Penis Envy" in 1981.

Joe Hart to retire at the end of 2023-24 season

Wonderful keeper. Apart from Dortmund performance, that save at Swansea from the header in 2015 is the best save I've ever seen live.

Rate The Food At The Etihad Out Of 0-5 ;-)

Northern Soul cheese and onion toasties outside East stand are great, hot and gooey and decent size for £7, which actually seems cheaper than their Tub Street place. Haven't eaten inside the ground for 2 years.

    First Away Game

Luton in the League Cup (1-1) 1977, taken by dad. No Colin the King sadly, but Kenilworth Road pretty exhilarating for a podgy 12 year old who'd only got into football after seeing Dennis's winner the year before.

    Leaving the game early

9 pints in the Abel, massive respect mate. Surprised you didn't go to the Academy Stadium by mistake.

    Victoria Tap

Works well as a place for a quick pint before a train, had a very good Holt the other week, but never going to feel as comfy as the Hare & Hounds (or Sinclairs on a quiet lunchtime now they've got cask back on).

    Steve Wright DJ RIP

Anyone who played out with "Wichita Lineman" is OK with me. 2 days on I still feel oddly cut up about his death; I think it's because he got put out to pasture off the BBC despite being (as I understand it) pretty much as good as he'd been for the previous 40 years. As I've said before, his...

    Steve Wright DJ RIP

Just listening to the Radio 2 show this afternoon where Sara Cox carries on through tears after getting the news. Felt for her, she did brilliantly. Never met Steve Wright, hardly listened to his shows, couldn't tell you when he's on, but feel really sad about this one.
