You raise a good point that I hadn’t considered prior, in that the desire was low when the SNP was voted in. But as far as I am aware the SNP came about to gain Scottish independence, so whilst you are right they are not a single issue party like UKIP, their primary aim is and always has been...

I don’t think it would become a one party state. Firstly, like UKIP, the SNP’s aim is for an iScotland. So I wonder if they would disband if it was delivered. I know many people that say they would not vote yellow in an indy Scotland but continue to vote that way to ensure the message is...

Quite possibly but I’d expect that the rUK weren’t paying particularly close attention to the debates so would be polling from a place of ignorance. That is a guess of course but I’d expect people would take a lot more interest if they were asked to vote.

How would you personally vote in that instance? Why do you think the English (and presumably the Welsh and Northern Irish) should get a say in it? Do you think it would return an overwhelming result if they all voted on it? P.s. a fairly large reason for the desire for indy, is to no longer...

An interesting poll showing the rise in support for Indy and the SNP

Well that’s not the case. The party leaders take it serious enough to turn up.

I’m just trying to understand your point mate. I don’t think shitty takeaway chicken should be accepted... Presuming it doesn’t meet the standards that the rest of the chicken sold here does.

Of course they will. And america may well say ‘that’s yer lot, take it or leave it’ And then we’d have no trade deal, presuming a no deal brexit

Are you suggesting that high street standards are different to say supermarket or butcher standards?

That’s fair enough then. We can agree to disagree. What about them wanting to strip the health warnings on food labels?

    General Election - December 12th, 2019

But we had just established that our standards were better than theirs? If they are not then I’d agree with you.

I see. So the issue is we don’t know what standard it was up to prior to being washed? Why would it need to be washed if it was already up to standard. Is there an argument behind that?

Surely you’d prefer that the stuff sold in the UK is up ti the standards that it should be rather than lowering it to accept this US stuff? If high street shoos are selling substandard meat they should be reported and held to standard.

Firstly. You are correct. You do have the choice. Of course you do. But the document says they will change the rhetoric surrounding these products. Which is the same as they did with smoking. First it was they never cause cancer, then it was they take away your freedom. So whilst you have...

But that wasn’t my question. I asked why the poster prefers the US standards over ours

And then changed the debate to taking away your freedom by not ‘allowing’ you to smoke Come on mate. You can’t say that these companies are to be trusted?

    General Election - December 12th, 2019

Why would you sooner trust their standards over ours? I am sure, not 100% confident, that our standard are regarded as better than theirs.
